He doesn't even beat the Oscar Floyd fought in my honest opinion. Margarito still got to him, Oscar would have gotten to him a lot easier.

Every fight Oscar was in was a big fight. Hernandez, Ruelas, Gonzales, Chavez 2X, Quartey, Whitaker, Castijello, Vargas, Sturm were his big fight wins and big PPV fights.
The fact that he did this when he started as champ at 130 is crazy. He was fighting top middleweights.Comment

The dela hoya that fought tito trinidad i think had a chance to out box prime pacquiao, but theres no way anyone would of stoped pac just because i think he was on juice in his prime.Comment

To me, prime De La Hoya is one of the most skilled and well rounded boxers of the last 20-25 years. I don't give him much credit for his title reigns at 130 and 135 because it was clear that he was looking for a size advantage there, but his runs at 140 and 147 were quality. At 154, he still managed to do some things although nothing great, with the exception of his win over Vargas. At 160, he should have never been a belt holder but that's another story.
With that being said, I go back to the original thread question. The truth is that I see DLH winning that fight handily. 2008 DLH had none of the great qualities that made him a force 10 years earlier. The mobility was not the same, the speed was diminished, the power was nonexistent, and even the punch resistance, which was one of his best attributes, was not the same. The strong 140 DLH who faced Miguel Angel González and Chávez beats Pacquiao, either boxing from a distance with his jab and left hook or launching quick combinations to the head and the body while circling away. Pacquiao would be tough but I don't think he wins it.Comment
