  • Comments Thread For: Oner: Odlanier Solis is Now Taking Career Seriously

Promoter Ahmet Oner says Olympic heavyweight champion Odlanier Solis (19-1, 12 KOs) is finally taking his career very seriously. The 33-year-old Cuban wants to secure a shot at the unified king of the heavyweights, Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51 KOs). Solis is hoping to land a shot at Klitschko in 2014. He was last seen in action in March of this year, winning a twelve round decision over previously undefeated Leif Larsen.

Solis, who is very talented when he wants to be, is 6'1". Same height and Ademek and an inch and a half short than Steve Cunningham.

Solis should probably be trying to make cruiserweight.

Now I understand their is big money in the heavyweight division but at that height he should be about 210-220 max to be in the best shape possible.

Already weighs 250? He needs to weigh 230 max to be taken seriously. And I really doubt he will drop that much weight again. It's a bit like Arreola, he just cannot lose that weight as he should to reach full potential. Such a shame.
