The rugged Argentinean would score three knockdowns in as many rounds, forcing referee Steve Smoger to wave off the contest inside of the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Matthysse has been linked to a possible fight in September with WBA/WBC champion Danny Garcia, yet there are some who are curious how he would do against the sport’s premier fighter, Floyd Mayweather.

On May 4th, Mayweather would successfully defend his WBC welterweight title against Robert Guerrero inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Showing tremendous movement with his feet and impeccable timing, Mayweather was as sterling as ever, winning a commanding unanimous decision over twelve rounds. [Click Here To Read More]

I'm a fan of Lucas and his style but I have to agree with Sr. as far as Floyd handling him. Afterwards, the same people (if any) claiming that Floyd is ducking him will just say that Floyd cherrypicked and beat a smaller fighter.

Peterson got the best of one sparring session, but no one in their right mind would think peterson could handle floyd in a real fight.

With that being said, if Floyd ask Matthysse to fight you and everyone else would be *****ing and moaning because you know floyd will whoop Matthysse ass.

this foul-mothed thug needs 2 close his trap but this time he's right;of course FM woulf beat him:BUT, if Lucas could drop dwn 2 140 he would dominate the division...fighters get lazy as they get older or start smelling the $$ vs guys they can't beat,perfect....ie: Cotto if he even thinks he has a chance vs Alvarez....he's still in a 147# body, & any1 knowledgeable would know this 2..

Floyd needs to come down to 140lbs. It's not fair Matthysse should fight a giant 147lb fighter.

SR just tellin it like it is... I like Matthyese but as far as skills there's not much to offer.. Judah and Alexander showed that. Matthyese landed some big punches in both fights, but had to many moments of inactivity and was getting out boxed for the majority of both fights.. I think he gases late in fights from throwing all those hard shots but lucky for him most fights don't go past 5

lol well If you put it that way, I'm not so sure If Floyd himself can take many shots from Matthyese @ 140 pounds but lil Floyd IS capable of making 140..but that will never happen in 1 million years

Yet another fantasy fight we don't need to see because Floyd already won it.
