Wow, people are actually taking this fight seriously lol. Look, Lucas has a lot of work to do before I can even consider this a decent fight. As it stands right now, Lucas is too slow, gets hit too often, doesn't cut the ring off and he relies on his power far too often to carry him over in fights. He also tends to gas down the stretch. Not to mention he's a 140 pounder. I'm honestly not that baffled at his punching power, he hits no harder than a Maidana to me. Not trying to knock Matthysee, but Guerrero is years better than Lucas, if you thought Robert didn't have a chance, how can you give Lucas one? Power? You need more than that to even win 3 rounds against Floyd. The fight people should be talking about is Lucas/Garcia winner against Broner. Those are the fights that you fans can hope and wish Lucas's power will carry him over, not with Floyd.

Who are u trying to fool with Gatti?

Gatti was waaaaaaay past prime and war torn.

        Come one now.
Please you try to come off al knowledgeable and **** but then say Gatti was past it when he fought Floyd

In reality Gatti could never beat Floyd in any shape or form, if that was the case Gatti would have beaten Angel ManFreddy but he was stopped. We all know what happen when Angel fought Floyd .

In any case I hope Floyd does fights Matthysse so I can see you haters continue to make excuses and cry about how Matthysse is a bum.

A main issue here is the weight difference, because it is power at 140 vs. skills at 147.

The true Mayweather vs. Matthysse contest is this: What would happen in a Mayweather vs. Peterson fight? Floyd would win by a wide UD, in clinical fashion, after 12 lopsided and boring boring rounds.

You guys are reaching. Lucas Matthysse had close fights with Zab Judah and Devon Alexander.

He's a good 140lber but Mayweather is truly elite. Keep it real, Lucas just isn't on Floyd's level. Floyd would box his ears off en route to a wide decision.

            Don't kid yourselves.

And everyone likes to say Castillo "beat" Floyd right? I've watched the fight a while ago and it was really really close. I can't believe that Mayweather would not be affected at the age of 36 by Matthysse ****ing away at his arms. Even if he doesn't land flush to the body or even the head.

If Lucas can improve his stamina in his next couple fights (maybe not knock the guy out in the first half of the fight and do solid work for 11 rounds) he can prepare himself to have a better shot if he gets the money call.

It's OK to think that Floyd is the best fighter pound for pound but he's not the only elite fighter in the game right now.
He isn't but mathysse certainly isn't elite. Jmm, ward, rigondeaux, vlad. Those are elite fighters.

Yeah, some restraint is in order, but MAN, he knocked Peterson down with a grazing shot. Like he just swiped Peterson across the forehead and his knees immediately buckled. This is the same Peterson that took some pretty hard shot when he fought Kendall Holt on ESPN. Holt ain't feather fisted by any means.

To see a guy like Peterson get blasted out after getting hit just two or three times is impressive and exciting. Based on that alone I think the hype is warranted.

No the hype would be warranted as soon as he out boxes a good boxer. He couldn't even outbox "old" Judah and "can't put it all together" Alexander. Don't get caught up on power, it'll deceive you. Look what happened to Kirkland.
