on the bold first, that will depend entirely on the contract he has signed. they keep fans in the dark about those for a reason. if you manage him you'd have your lawyer go throgh it with a fine tooth comb. matthysse certainly doesn't have a lifetime contract with goldenboy. other than that i don't know how many fights he's committed to, and that's something that's rarely discussed in public for any fighter.

you don't get a ton more for fighting those type of opponents than you do for bums. you're still a main event on hbo, and you're sharing more of the pie. i'd be shocked if either of those fights were ppv. i'd reevaluate things if they if i had some sort of guarantee that they are, but going into the decision i'd guess that they are not. if those fights are on hbo you'd get a bit more than you would for a total can (and by total can i mean top 10 type guy who has no hope, not a real tomato can) but it's a hard fight. golovkin's face always looks a bit jacked up. he takes some punishment in victory. you can fight cans thrice a year for a long time. if i'm managing a guy i'd rather go that rout, unless there's a huge fight to shoot for on the other end. maybe martinez is right for the taking now, as he's so aged and golovkin would destroy him and win the MW championship. the JR fight i wouldn't take. it will be there after he wails on cans for a year and makes me some money.

with a fighter like matthysse i'd be looking to get to the b side of a PPV and quickly. you probably won't manage the guy forever. things change. i'd want to get paid.

now, if you told me i have some sort of relationship with these guys and i can guide them for the rest of their careers, i would look at it differently. i'd also be looking out for the fighter as if we had a relationship. things would really change. i'd probably still take matthysse. either way, i'm paying for the kid to take serious lessons in english.

i'd be shocked if either guy ever becomes a ppv type star, but i said the same thing about manny pacquiao when he had a bowl cut parted down the middle and red no fear pants.

You're right he doesn't have a lifetime contract but by the time his contract runs out, Pac will already have one foot out the door.

If Golovkin destroys the Macklins, Barkers and Murrays of the world, I can definitely see him on ppv against Martinez or Chavez Jr. Or if there's not enough demand in the U.S., GGG could fight them in their home countries. It would be on free TV but the mainstream networks would pay a lot of money to broadcast the fight, and the gate money would be huge. Big $$$ either way. And don't forget he has a real belt, unlike Matthysse.

Also the most important factor IMO is the fighter's ability. I think GGG is a superior fighter, he got skills to fall back on if his power is not enough, I think he has a much greater potential than Matthysse. I'm talking about ATG potential.

i don't see a potential atg in golovkin in the least, dude. matthysse either. maybe if he was 21 years old. he's at his absolute zenith physically. they both are. he'll develop his craft, and he's a bit of a technician for a hard ****er who comes forward almost chiefly, but i'm clearly not as high on him as you are.

I voted that I can't choose. I think Matthysse is by far the best 140 pounder in the world and GGG. is by far the best 160 pounder in the world. As far as picking Lucas because he might get the Mayweather fight I don't think there is much chance of that happening. It might be frustrating to manage them because I think many top fighters in their weight classes are afraid to fight them.

Watched that interview last night. Dibella ain't coming through on his words. One more tune up for Sergio, and then GGG.
