GBP wouldn't move forward with the Cotto fight unless they were certain that Floyd and Canelo was a done deal.

Agree with PBP and Bojangles. Can't see cotto going on the 28th if aq cotto or foyd fight was avaialble 2 weeks prior.

Selfish reasons I don't want Floyd & Canelo to fight in Sept they need to let cook to Cinco De mayo when I will go back to Vegas for the fight.

I would be very surprised that Canelo vs Mayweather would be made. First off, Mayweather wants the fight to be at 147 and I don't even know if Canelo can make that weight in a healthy weight.

Second, Cotto would be a better option to get the most money for GBP. A fight between Cotto and Canelo would be huge but I just read that Cotto is scheduled to fight in Brooklyn on Sept 15th. Unless they are bringing in Canelo, I don't understand that logic.

The weight issue must have been ironed out. I think it was pretty clear that Canelo/Cotto was plan B. With him having his own date in BK, it has to mean that Floyd/Canelo is a go.

And according to ESPN, Cotto's 9/28 date is not a PPV so its not possible that the fight will be against Canelo.

So who does Canelo Alvarez fight in September??
