Well, Cotto had 21 fights at 140 which were at least 8 rounders, and of those 21 fights, he won ALL OF THEM. So Cotto is undefeated at 140. And in those 21 fights, only 3 guys did NOT get knocked out (Malignaggi, Ndou and John Brown).
And your only comment about Cotto at 140 is "cotto had no chin at 140".
    Good stuff, really.

Oh man that would have been a great fight. I got Cotto by late stoppage in a war

This exactly, the hype on him is crazy WTF. Schefer calls him the new Pac and it's true? Peterson doesn't exactly have a granite chin either, Lucas didn't put Zab on the mat I don't think and Cotto won by brutal beatdown, no cards needed and that was at 147. Cotto wins in a tough fight but he's the better boxer, higher boxing IQ and would actually be the quicker of the two both hand and foot speed.

You mean Miguel Cotto who had a 27-0 record with 22 KOs when he finally made the jump to 147? Yeah, you're right, he had no chin...he ******.

I am glad people feel the same as me, Cotto is just another league of fighter to Matthysse, it's easy to forget that once a fighter comes nearer the end of his career like Cotto. We have seen his climb, his peak, and now a slow decline. With Mattysse we haven't, but from what I've seen so far he does not seem the same calibre of fighter as Cotto. Matthysse looks like a decent to good technical fighter with spectacular power, it would take more than that to beat Cotto even at 140. People talk about the vulnerable moments, but Torres absolutely teed off on Cotto and couldn't get him out of there, Corley hit him on the temple and his legs went, but he still recovered and destroyed Corley soon after. I don't see Matthysse stopping him, and if he went for Cotto as recklessly as he did Peterson he would have been taken out himself, in fact I think that is what would happen. Cotto would break him down with his superior skill, jab, body punching, defense, and timing. I expect him to have bad moments, and be hurt, because Mattysse is a very good fighter, but this about levels and Cotto has another gear.

Good point, Cotto @ 140@ prime. Would be a hell of a fight, imo.
I can't pick a winner in this fantasy fight. But i would lean a bit toward Mathesse, because of his power in both hands.

Current Lucas Matthysse would hit way to hard for Cotto, Cotto would think he was getting Margarito'd all over again.

Torres is a dynamite puncher, but nowhere near the chin or boxing that Lucas has. What's the point in showing this fight?

Edit: Ooooohhhh, I get it. You're trying to say, "replace Torres with Lucas, and Cotto might've died in the ring that night."

                    My bad E.P.T.

Cotto was pretty weak physically at 140lbs. He'd have hell with Mathysse even though he's a superior boxer.
