Does anyone know about Roman Greenberg yet?

I have been following this Israili but fighting out of London Heavyweight for 2 years now and am really excited about him.

I think he could easily dominate the Heavyweights like Lewis did or even more so.

21-0 right now. He should be fighting for a Euro title Skelton or Williams type guy by the end of the year.

    Anyone know anything about him?

Funny Article about his 19th fight

Okay, maybe it’s not fair to compare Roman Greenberg to the Roman legions that conquered most of the world over two thousand years ago. After all, those Romans were not bound by the Marquis of Queensberry rules. But there were certain similarities. For instance, it had to recall the emperor Nero fiddling while Rome burned.

Roman Greenberg from London and Tel Aviv , looked very good – and so did his opponent from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Marcus McGee, 217 ¾, – until the first bell sounded. And that’s when no hell broke loose.

McGee looked at Roman, Roman looked at McGee

Lots of looking, but no punches to see.

They continued looking, Roman and Mcgee

As though each wondered, “Is he better looking than me?”

It didn’t take very long for this crowd, which came to cheer for Greenberg, 238 ¾, to do what New York crowds know how to do when you let them down. Less than two minutes into the fight – or whatever it was that was happening in the ring – this sophisticated group of boxing aficianados was sounding like a herd of very weary cows.

Having absolutely no compassion for barnyard animals or disgruntled fight fans, McGee, in a steady, slow-motion retreat, continued looking at Greenberg, who, plodding forward, stared right back at McGee. It became apparent by the end of the third round that referee Eddie Cotton had landed no less punches than either McGee or Greenberg.

McGee evades left jab, but . . .

goes down from combo in the 4th ---Lisa Ross

In the fourth round, there was a strange occurrence. Roman Greenberg landed a left hook followed by a solid right hand and sent McGee sprawling, partially under the bottom strand of ropes. To his credit, McGee got up, but it was like, “Uh-oh, why did I do that?” So he reconsidered his situation and in the ensuing seconds, whenever he was touched either by Roman or Eddie Cotton, he would fall down as though testing the firmness of the canvas. These were not ruled knockdowns by Eddie Cotton. At this point, for some reason, the crowd was shouting out the virtues of a certain fertilizer. By now, Roman, realizing he was a gladiator, threw another right, again dropping his man. McGee (12-6 6 KO’s) arose, looking as unhappy as a fighter can look. He was also limping, cringing and all-in-all, did not seem in the mood to resume the more recent activities. This became obvious, not only to the crowd, sometimes known as fight fans, but also to the referee, so Eddie Cotton terminated proceedings at 1:29 of the fourth round and I couldn’t help remembering an old-time radio favorite, Fibber McGee.

For Roman Greenberg, whose record is now 18-0 (13 KO’s), maybe this fight will not go down as a feather in his cap nor will it be exactly a great cause for celebration, but it is a win and, hopefully, all part of the learning experience. Unlike most Romans, instead of pasta at Patsy’s, it will be kishka at Katz’s.

can you please tell me how in hell you think he can dominate the heavyweight division like lewis did?

the only reason why this guy (greenberg) ever gets mentioned is because he is a ***.....

for your information, he turned down a fight for the british title as he wasn't ready.

everybody deserves their credit, their DUE credit.
