he IS heavily to blame for not being entertaining. his style is ugly, there is never any sense of danger in the air when he's fighting, he throws arm punches, he clinches a heck of a lot, he's barely been in ONE memorable fight.

also, what about bradley? was he "coming to win"? alexander ruined that fight too.

he is one of the most tedious fighters out there. keeping it 100% real. at least when bhop and floyd are in stinkers, it's offset by their amazing skills and intelligence, thus there's something to enjoy/study.

devon alexander has one of the stinkiest styles ive seen in a long, long time.

honestly, this isn't about him having the right dancer partners. HE is one of the worst opponents out there for anyone. him and floyd would be horrific. i think floyd fans concentrating on the legitimacy of the fight and are really neglecting how appalling un-entertaing it would be.

The way he looked at the weigh in for Rees, didn't look like he had much time there to begin with, I doubt that happens. I think Broner will remain as someone with a shitty SFW/LW resume but that's perfectly fine with me as I think he'll redeem himself at 140-147.

Hopefully he can make that weight again because I'd like to see those fights.

Well they did, and since they did, he should too.

And Ortiz had a loss and a draw. He quit against Maidana. He had Peterson in deep water and gave him a get out of jail free card.

Guerrero lost to Salido and Diaz. Salido tested positive but was later cleared. And Guerrero quit against Yordan which was an NC.

Guerrero and Ortiz lost/quit against much lesser fighters and Alexanders previous 6 fights were against much higher levels of competition than Ortiz and Guerrero have faced their entire careers.

Neither Ortiz or Guerrero would go through Devon's resume without a couple of losses. So if he fought bum after bum, then beat Berto he would all of the sudden be worthy?

If they got the opportunity, he should to. It's that simple. He meets GBP/Floyd Mayweather's criteria as a worthy opponent. He shouldn't be passed over just because of fighting style/marketability reasons. Which isn't an excuse anyways because he sells more tickets in St. Louis than Guerrero does in Cali.

For one I don't buy the idea that Devon wouldn't be marketable. It would be a unification bout which would add buzz and all Showtime would have to talk about is his win against the most hyped guy in boxing right now Lucas Matthysse. Whether you thought he won it or not doesn't matter, Devon having that win on his resume makes him marketable right now. He also has a giant following around the midwest and puts more asses in seats than almost every other boxers does in their home town.

If they actually run a promotion this time around instead of the lackluster job they just did Floyd could fight almost anyone and sell well.

And I know I sound like a broken drum by now, but if it isn't Canelo then who else would it be? It's slim picking once you run down the scenarios and whether you like him or not Devon's name has to be at the top of the list.

firstly, the choice of robert was trash, i always thought so, and i said so. that fight was always always going to suck because he had no chance. doesn't matter how exciting a fighter is, when they're woefully out of their depth, its gonna show.

is a fight with alexander and floyd going to suck worse?

youd better believe it. I'm 100% serious. it would be even worse. not only would he be out of his depth but he wouldnt press the fight. he would make floyd look terrible too.

From what Devon and Cunningham said last week, if they weren't signed to fight Kell Brook they would have gotten Floyd. They said Floyd tweet was real and he wanted Devon basically, but since Devon was under contract they couldn't fight.

Do you think he gets stopped? Maybe he does, but I don't see it ending early. We'd get at least 6-7 rounds of high entertainment out of it imo, maybe more.
