Lucas needs to get his weight up and move up and beat a credible opponent before there is even mention of him fighting floyd. I wouldnt mind seeing how Matthysee does against Alexander at 147, Berto, or Thurman who is very large and hits hard as **** himself.

Maywather isn't a disciplined top level boxer, he's ATG boxer. No doubt he would win but no one comes close to the ability of Mayweather atm. Can anyone at 140 avoid getting caught by big punches from Mattysse for 12 rounds? I don't think so.

Let's not get carried away. He probably beats everyone at 140 but at 147 I'm not sure he beats Guerrero, Bradley or Marquez. He definitely doesn't beat Floyd.

well me personally i didn't listen to anyone saying that peterson was gonna be able to take matthysses punch. i knew that there was a chance that peterson would get rocked early or ko'd just going by his history. he was hurt very badly early with bradley (came on strong) he was almost stopped early on with ortiz (came on strong) and khan rocked him early on........in all of his big fights he's been in danger early.

it doesn't matter in this situation because Matthysse had the power to keep him down. but when we start talking about Matthysse beating everyone at 147 (thats what i was responding to) i don't see it at all.

it's one weightclass up ..plus people were already talking about a potential ww catcthweight fight with maidana early last year.. he can fight berto or brook and that should qualify him to fight floyd , IF floyd wil have the same requirement as when he fought guerrero, he should'nt have a problem fighting lucas.. but it aint going to happen, for sure ...

Because Floyd will ask him to fight at 154 after fighting Canelo at 147.

Mayweather-Mattysse at 154 is no different than at 147, Mayweather doesn't weigh 154 on fight night, so doesn't matter.

You are more confident in Lucas than he is in himself. If he was really not worried about moving up and facing larger fighters he would have already and be trying to make some real money chasing a fight with floyd like guerrero did and not fighting guys like Garcia. 147 is full of larger guys that can take punches better and dish out some heat themselves. Same reason why Peterson never moved up.

Mattysse would jump at a chance to fight Mayweather anybody would, there's too much money involved not to.
