Would Matthysee be able to beat a big punching large welter like Abregu or Thurman.

      great performance tonight...........

but you know what i want to see from lucas? a guy that can take his punch and also hit him back with a good punch. guys like pac, marquez, floyd, rios, will be able to take his punch and also land good shots of their own. although a good performance with peterson we've never really seen anyone stand up to lucas (meaning being able to take his shot) when he steps up to fighting those elite fighters that i mentioned, oh you can believe they will take his punch & will be bombing right back. thats why it's called the elite level, guys can take punches better........you have to be able to use your brain.

peterson himself almost was stopped in the early rounds vs ortiz. for peterson to be effective he must get out of the early rounds but that didn't happen. credit to lucas...........

People are definitely jumping the gun by mentioning Mathysse at 147. But if we're talking about 140, he has a very bright future.

Peterson was suppose to be that guy, Lamont is known to be pretty durable and recover very well.

The bold is a bit of a stretch but I agree with Peterson being one of the slowest starters, it's usually a solid shot that gets his engine running, but Matthysse hit him too solid this time, sadly for him.

He's flat footed and doesn't cut the ring off well. A DISCIPLINED top level boxer would take him out. IE Floyd Mayweather Jr. He's damn good though.

No idea until you see him at 147. I'd be happy to see him rule 140. He can go to 147 if Floyd is interested.

There are a lot of fighters that just don't make a smooth transition from 40-47.

With him rehydrating to 150 I think he's fine where he is. Especially at age 30. Only reason to move up is for the money.
