Garcia is not a massive puncher, is not fast footed and is hittable. Don't get me wrong, garcia is a very, very good fighter. But his weaknesses, as set forth above, are lethal against a guy like matthyse. I've seen matthyse twice in person. I was in the third row in his fight against soto. I've never seen a guy at that weight class hit that hard. There is a reason why guys like al bernstein have such a hardon for him.

I can give the edge in power to Lucas, but both have good enough power to knock each other out, so power is a moot point. Danny appears to have a wider arsenal of punches and better timing. Lucas can throw caution to the wind and throw an ass of punches without getting hurt by most guys. With Danny that will bite him in the ass quick. All in all will be a good one. Can't wait

Fair play, I never thought he'd destroy him like that. Peterson's been knocked down, hurt and is generally a slow starter, but Matthysse never gave him any time to recover and just blitzed him. Pretty even fight on paper, too, in my mind.

I'm sorry...But I don't understand. I mean Barry Hunter had Mont trying to the very wrongest of gameplans. They needed to watchSRL vs HAglar... floyd vs everybody...& El Chacal...or Moreno vs vic Darch. These guys usually doen't just move backwards & allow these hard punchers just gain momentum in coming at them. You have to make them miss & then stand ur ground w/ hard shots or combinations that stun them...them make them move again & beat them to the punch HARD again right after that. Then smother...then walk them backward...bully some. I mean u can't allow them to simply come fwd & only have a jab to worry about. U have to disrupt their pattern & timing & frustrate & GO AT the bully. Look at how buster duglass beat tyson. He threw power jabs
& combinations....he created doubt. Going backwards & jabbing only affirms the bully's strengths...Danny Garcia said it well. We don't know wut he can do if forced backwrds....I like Lucas I like Lamont & Garcia. But Lamont had the tools to beat this kid decisively & really had the wrong plan IMO. Shout out to the Pacers for finishingthose BUMAZZ knicks off!

In the first round, what peterson was doing was right. He controlled distance and matthyse was incapable of cutting off the ring. That all fell apart in round two, but nothing at all wrong with that strategy.

And, i don't think floyd's ever been in there with somebody with that kind of power. Maybe if he'd fought a prime mosley at 135, but definitely not the shot version of him at 147. Matthyse has the kind of power where he can knock you out with either hand with one punch. That is very, very rare.
