if any floyd fan (and Im a floyd fan) says that khan-floyd is anything more than a joke of a fight, they should be spit and jizzed on, and permanently banned from anything boxing related. this could be the biggest joke fight in the history of boxing, and if floyd takes it, at any point of his dwindling career, it will be laughable at the very best. praying this does not happen. this one fight will tarnish his legacy forever. if he chooses khan, he might as well pick a random amateur boxer from a similar weight class and fight him. same idea...
Example: Even though he never had fought at 140 nor 147 yet, Guerrero's name was brought up as a potential fight last year and everyone laughed at that. Once Guerrero became Floyd's opponent I heard the same song and dance from Floyd's fans:
- " .... but he beat Berto"
- "..... but he is Floyd's mandatory"
- "..... but nobody else left to fight at WW (counter response: what about 154?)"
- "..... but Guerrero is bigger than Floyd so its legit"
almost forgot the best one ".... but Floyd is allowed to cherry pick now"Last edited by ADP02; 05-18-2013, 01:33 PM.Comment

Is this a joke? Khan brought up Floyd's name in the interview that I just saw. He said that Floyd wanted him to come up to 147 to fight him. So I brought up why Floyd will win against this version of Khan .... and ....
The problem with Floyd is that he has been very consistent in trying to fight green fighters. Even Canelo said that Floyd wanted to fight him 1 -2 years ago. Canelo is still green now but how about the that version of 1-2 years ago? Again, Floyd has been consistent and has many fights to make a strong case about that.
On topic you said? Now Manny has NOTHING to do with this. ZERO!!! So why did you bring it up?
Manny fought enough risky opponents to give him some slack BUT does that mean that I never questioned his picks? No.
When Manny vs Marquez 3 was on, I criticized it thinking Marquez was going to look flabby, out of condition and slow like he did against Floyd. At weigh in, he actually looked bigger than Manny! So knowing that PLUS knowing that Marquez always gave Manny a tough fight, I changed my mind.
When Manny vs Bradley was on, I was in agreement with those who stated that Bradley didn't have enough fights at 147 to prove that he belongs there but thought it would still be a tough fight.
Rios is a good comeback fight. Rios looks like a skeleton at 135/140 during his weigh-ins. At 147, I can see a stronger Rios and he is a very game fighter that is not scared of anything. It can end up being a tough fight if he can handle Manny's power.
When Manny fought Mosley, I questioned that too being that Mosley was OLD.
Again, the problem with Floyd is that he has been very consistent. He even admits to it and his opponents think he does too!:
EXAMPLE: "Guerrero (and many other people) say Mayweather handpicks his opponents ..... I think that if I choose to pick and choose at this particular time - I feel that it's my prerogative""
When "on topic" I talked about what this thread is about. Amir Khan making silly statements that he's made before and been proved horribly wrong on previously- ending with him being TKO'd. And still he doesn't learn from that by admitting his flaws and dealing with them. It's always his trainer or the division..... I couldn't care less if his motivation is a Mayweather fight down the line. The real issue is his neverending ability to delude himself into thinking he's anelite level fighter. And if such a match should happen, I certainly won't be lauding it.Comment

Khan is lucky he brings a high level of entertainment every time he fights because he's been exposed one too many times to think that we actually believe what he just said.. Poor guy has to come of for excuses as to why he's been getting either KTFO or going chicken dancing every time he fights, its comical..Comment

next he'll be saying he needs to move up to heavyweight cuz he'll be able to absorb the punches there

Oh man,
Didn't Khan just get put on his @$$ and repeatedly rocked by a career lightweight??
Floyd toys with him and KO's him late. Any of the BIG punchers in the division brutally mangle Khan within 3 rounds (Garcia style).
The guy is a clown who has been over hyped by everyone involved in his career, someone close to him needs to have a serious word before he gets hurt.Comment

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough for you to understand, but I ususally say: "on topic" to indicate that I'm done addressing things weren't "on topic" like you, being a card carrying, fully fledged member of the Pacquiao spit bucket club, talking about other fighters making a habit of facing those coming up in weight when he's done the same thing for a while, consecutively.

For you it's not on topic but to hear directly from Khan that Floyd wants him in a video presented in this thread IS RELEVANT! Other posters agreed.
I agree that Khan has issues that should not warrant him to be in any big fight with Floyd BUT I have heard that before and Floyd has proven otherwise. It's like all parties involved want it because it's going to be a big money fight but we are the ones who are going to be watching that fiasco and predictably watching "Khan get KOed".Comment
