Pretty soon the promoter Schaefer will be accused for the fight not happening (like Arum) etc... Deja vu all over again.
Exactly, people are quick to blame certain parties to make Floyd look like the innocent one, which is fine, who cares? But the situation indicates otherwise because all the "guilty" parties from the last failed mega-fight (Pac, Arum, Koncz) are in no way, shape or form involved in this situation.

I'm not even sure if he'll make a catchweight of 150/151. but if they were to fight, it would have to be at 154 for (1) floyd to get full credit, (2) Floyd says that he fights at his opponents best weight, (3) he has to put that title on the line.

Although I am in agreement that Floyd has earned the right to demand the weight just like Oscar did a few years ago, Canelo just can't make that weight and therefore a fight between the two would be impossible unless Floyd gives in a little.
I honestly think Floyd's body maxes out at welterweight. Its documented that he actually lost weight between the weigh-in and fight against DLH and he claims to have done the same against Cotto. And you're right, those were probably the worst performances of his career outside of the first Castillo fight. And in Canelo, he'd be facing a young, strong, hard punching, natural jr middleweight. Hell, Canelo is probably a natural middleweight that is capable of melting down to 154. Not guys in DLH and Cotto that started out at lower weights and eventually made their way up to 54. So it would be a different kinda challenge.

All in all, looking at Mayweather's performances over the last couple years, I felt Canelo was the toughest challenge for him style wise. More of a challenge than Pac. More of a challenge than Martinez. But, the way Floyd fought Guerrero makes me confident that he still has the ability to do what he needs to do to beat Canelo. Which is fight at a safe distance, pot shot, move, turn, and counter the kid all night long.

So Canelo and his team do not deserve to know details.

If Schaefer want people to think that Mayweather is not communicating with his father about details, he is ready for some swamp land in Florida going cheap. Most likely many people are involved and Schaefer is paranoid and why he keeps mentioning the weight part. He is too buy trying to put out fires now that Mayweather Sr and Canelo's trainer already spilled the beans. Schaefer is like a guy to busy putting out too many little fires and then his own house burns down.

Don't forget it is also documented that Floyd lost weight after spending a couple wks in jail.. He says he was as low as 140 but he was probably more like 138 139 Floyd's dad also mentioned that Floyd was eating a lot just to make 146 vs Guerrero..

Floyd's experienced enough to know that no matter how good he is there are limitations when it comes to difference in weight as his last few opponents have all come in at 160+ I'm positive Floyd's been feeling the difference and he knows that at 36 fighting someone 170+ just isn't wise..

and If by some miracle they somehow do fight at 154 I expect Floyd to make at the least 50 million Guaranteed!

Simple who on the Golden Boy roster can Canelo fight at 160; Peter Quiellen I highly doubt it. 154 is where Canelo can make his money unless he fights Sergio which I doubt happens. Like I said I think they will fight in May after Canelo beats Cotto and the fight will be bigger than what it is now and he look more like the person to give Floyd his first L by then.

Canelo can make money wherever he fights, but the question is will he comfortably be able to make the 154 by next May?.. I don't know. In fact only Canelo and his team know for sure.
