De La Hoya didn't win more than three rounds of that fight and it was the highest grossing PPV fight of all time. You're telling me that Mayweather ducked a rematch? Not a chance.
How does this NOT raise your eyebrows at least a little...even if your a May fan???

Mayweather wanted 50-50. He felt since he beat De La Hoya and was the other half of the historic 2.5 million PPV sold, that he was entitled to a 50-50 split.
Oscar De La Hoya still wanted the lion's share, Floyd said **** off then, and fought Hatton instead. Then De La Hoya went and ****d Pacquiao with something like an 80-20 split, but in return, got ****d by Pacquiao for being a greedy cherrypicker. Every one wanted De La Hoya vs Margarito.
BTW, I don't know when did you guys started watching boxing, I have been a member here since before the DLH-May fight, and I can tell you for a fact that nobody wanted to see Mayweather vs De La Hoya II. Nobody at all.Comment

The Canelo situation is far from proven or at it's end and the Manny situation is not a one way street.
All you are saying is Floyd is tough to negotiate with, and given his position in the sport both now and then he should be. There are consequences though for doing that and that would be guys scoffing at his demands thus fights becoming impossible to make~Comment

The Marquez-Pacquiao V fight not happening is exactly what happened with the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight not happening. Marquez felt he deserved 50-50 for beating Pacquiao, and the PPV numbers were in part of Marquez too. Pacquiao wanted the lion's share still. Fight didn't happen, Marquez chose Bradley.
That's all that happened here.Comment

I had a fight party for it and not a single person in the room saw that as a close fight at all. Almost everybody there was a De La Hoya fan and wanted him to win. Everyone in the room saw a one-sided Oscar loss even when trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. It is impossible to score that fight for Oscar. There was no demand for a rematch at all. Maybe in delusional SoCal, but nowehere else I assure you.Comment
