Completely nuts. The atmosphere on both nights was impossible to describe.
I was up in the cheap (well, still over $100.00) seats for both.

I had tix for the original Sept.15th date for Hopkins-Tito....but we know what happened to that. I couldn't make it for the rescheduled date.
That would have been different for me, because I wanted Hopkins to win, even though Tito was my boy. I'm from Phila., I had to support my hometown... & I also couldn't believe how underestimated Hopkins was going in.....& I knew Trinidad couldn't handle him.

That fight against Joppy made me think Tito was unstoppable. Thing again I was like 15. Talk about the wrong strategy when fighting Tito.

I saw things I never saw Trinidad do in that fight.

man .... funny story about the joppy fight, i was out on business that weekend in seattle, wa (scap, where you at?) and no bars, clubs, my hotel didn't have PPV - had the fight so i thought i was ****ed ... anyway, going down this strip i saw an electronics store, bought a CD (i think it was the metallica S&M) and started talking to the clerk about where i can see the fight, the kid was like 15, and he goes "oh my boys and i just watch the fights here on the 100" in the back" ... i said "que?, can i come". talk about lifesaver.

Haha! I know the feeling but i wasn't so lucky.

At school the basketball players had to work security for some fake ass wrestling thing they were having in our gymnasium. Night of the Tito/Hopkins fight, I left as soon as we were done then drove around to every bar/restaurant/hotel in the Gurnee, Illinois area and couldn't find one t.v. with the fight. I was hella pissed.
