Marquez KOing Pacquiao more impressive than any Mayweather victory?

I would say Mayweather's total domination of Diego Corrales rivals that knockout. What you lose in status of opponent (Chico was highly rated at this time anyway), you make up for in the style, brutality and flawless exhibition of boxing on Mayweather's part.

I cannot take anything away from Marquez' victory though. It was timing and countering at it's best.

    Both guys are great.

Not undermining Mayweather's catalog of work, just analyzing things on a single fight basis. Who said Marquez is a better overall boxer than Mayweather? But is the best single win of Marquez' career superior to the best single win of Mayweather's career? Fair question.. Maybe you just don't like the answer?

I don't think it would have taken Mayweather 4 tries just to defeat a single opponent because he is that good. Marquez' KO win over Pacquiao is substantial but just look how many attempts it took him in order to achieve that goal; Four to be exact. It's a known fact, that a fighter can become easily distracted and emotionally bored after defeating the same opponent many times consecutively in a row. When that happens mental fatigue sets in then there is absolutely nothing left to prove

It wasn't even a good win for Marquez. He stepped on Pac's foot and it a was a lucky punch that wouldn't have happened if he weren't roiding.

That was a dominating performance by Mayweather but Marquez wasn't properly conditioned for that fight, it was his first step up to 147 and against the p4p number 1. He jumped up 2 weight divisions to face Mayweather.

The way Marquez looked that night he would have got shut out or knocked out by most top 147 pounders, including Pacquiao. It could be argued that it's surprising Mayweather didn't knock him out that night because he was in very poor condition - if that version of Marquez had showed up against Pacquiao there's almost no doubt he would have been knocked out.

I hate to bust your bubble but Mayweather beat the crap out of Marquez though and Marquez is too scared to pursue revenge.

Floyd humiliated Marquez something Pac never did.
