Is Khan instantly p4p #1 when he beats Mayweather this year?

Khan beats Mayweather later on this year in his next fight, Khan instantly get elevated to the number 1 p4p spot? Unlikely Khan beats him but if he pulls off a huge upset is he the head honcho in the p4p rankings..?

In other words... does beating Mayweather instantly make you p4p #1?

isn't that why your boy hatton fought Mayweather and Pacquiao (besides the payday).. remember hatton was always talking about being p4p#1 by beating floyd or pac who were joint p4p number 1 at the time

Yeah, he did. I think Hatton had kind of put himself into that top 5 bracket (or at least top 10) whereby he needed to knock off one of the top 3 to become No.1. Khan right now isn't in that position.

I think Khan would be elevated into the PFP list but probably from 6-10, he's not currently on the lists but the people who compile them for ESPN/RING etc aren't going to forget his recent bout with Garcia and general struggles with punch resistance.

So yeah, that was my long-winded way of saying I don't think beating Mayweather makes you No.1 if you're not already high up the list. They would probably slide Ward or Marquez in there.

No, beating Floyd wont make you no1, as many dont think Floyd is no1, and anyone can lose on any given day really if they fight regularly enough.

Beating Floyd dont mean you wont lose your next fight to a bum. DLH lost very soon after taking floyd to the split decision, and Cotto lost after giving Floyd a tough fight. So did Hatton, and Castillo didnt go on much longer as well.

How is it even possible when Khan himself, has stated that he won't be in action again this year until the Month of December? By then Floyd would have already fought his September opponent.

Beating P4P number 1 doesn't automatically make you P4P number 1. It puts you in the top 10 though.
