Part of it is that he's the best available for sept. Would you actually perfer to see him fight Devon Alexander instead????

Which makes it puzzling why Floyd isn't jumping all over this fight, because regardless of whether or not he's worthy of his press, Canelo is the biggest money fight available for Floyd. He'd likely make plenty extra over his guarantee because he's still able to earn upside if fights perform well enough on PPV.

Yes, he is more than capable of beating Floyd. That's the reason why Floydie is ducking him like plague.

Mayweather has a higher chance of losing at 154 based on his performances against Oscar and Cotto.Canelo size advantage not skills make him a threat to Mayweather

We're talking about an already harder puncher, coupled with a huge size advantage, so of course he could beat Floyd. Would be though, I doubt it, the pace favors Mayweather, the style favors Mayweather, Floyd is also too mobile for Canelo. I see Mayweather tying him up every chance he gets (which he should) and fighting behind a stick. I also see Mayweather landing straight right hands to the mid section, which will slow Canelo down. It's probably gonna remind many of Mayweather-Baldomir.

I don't think Canelo could beat Floyd, for me he falls in the same category as Amir Khan. A fighter I believed had the raw materials to beat Floyd but in the end failed to develop on those attributes and/or have fatal flaws. For Canelo his biggest issue is his poor conditioning, I feel that the opening rounds would have been competitive but from round 6-12 it would be Floyd pot shotting him to an easy victory.

That being said if Floyd has actually asked Canelo to drop to 147lb, it suggests to me that some attribute in Canelo worries him.

I really, really don't think Alvarez wins. I would fully expect Mayweather to not only win, but very comfortably. The only thing Alvarez has is size and power, and his style is not one that imposes those advantages upon Mayweather.

As for your initial question, the consensus is that Canelo with his power, size, and combination punching will give Floyd his biggest test in YEARS! Would you rather see that or Floyd in the ring with another overmatched opponent who has very little chance at beating Floyd?
Sooooo now Canelo is the one to beat Floyd??? When the pac sweepstakes was going on, why didnt you talk about canelo then??? lmao

Hes the new boogey man lol

No, but it could do Tyson-Holyfield numbers.
