team alvarez don't need to pu55y-foot around mayweather. its really not that big a deal for them if floyd walks away. they got a cotto fight lined up for big bucks, theyve got the credibility of the trout victory and the knowledge that they pushed for a mayweather fighter. and canelo has a lot of upside in the sport.

what's floyd gonna do? walk away from ANOTHER fight the fans were calling for?

lets see how another fiasco like the pac one plays out in the boxing public, on the heels of the under-performing guerrero fight.

this isnt ortiz or guerrero or shane "alimony" mosley that we are talking about. canelo's star is in the ascendancy, he and his team do not need to get butt-****ed by mayweather in negotiations. lol at the idea they gotta pu55y-foot around floyd and beg for hand-outs.

a win is unlikely, and his team probably knows it too. it would be great if the fight was made but they are in the unusual position of having a lot of leverage in negotiating with mayweather. he simply cannot afford to have another pac-like fiasco and not have this fight not get made.

People are crazy for real. A new top dog comes along every so often and it looks like Canelo is the new top dog. Mayweather should have signed to find Canelo in January instead of letting him gain momentum. Multiple times in Mexico he has pulled in close to 50K if not more. He just pulled in nearly 40K in his last fight, as well as bringing in the top numbers for each network HBO and Showtime, whenever he fights.

Now, he is going to headline his first PPV and if the numbers he does with Cotto are remotely close to what Mayweather did with Cotto, there goes more of Floyd's leverage. Now imagine Canelo stops Cotto.......no one is going to care about what Floyd has done in the past, the storyline is going to be how Canelo does what Floyd can't do.

This is going to push a potential fight further down the road because Haymon will need to try and wait or the Canelo hype to die down a bit so Floyd can hopefully gain some leverage before another attempt at negotiations. It's the same thing Arum was doing with Pac when he was fighting guys that Floyd fought and having Pac win in more impressive fashion creating an implied description as to what would transpire between Floyd and Pac.
