Because hes the ww champ and hes defending that belt. The 154lb belt he has no plans to -same as when he beat odh. The wba has become more corrupt since then and wont strip him so they can get big money when he does unify or fight sergio or manny at the weight.

Yeah but see Floyd NEEDS big fights from here on out. Showtime lost out on this one, not too much it seems but if it doesn't make money, it doesn't make sense. As backwards as it sounds, Floyd really does need a guy like Canelo more than a guy like Canelo needs him right now. It's due to Floyd's guaranteed fee. Like some others have said, if Floyd was only getting like 8 mill a fight or something, it wouldn't be such a big deal but 32 mill is a tall order.

He didnt want to fight Margarito although I feel he would have made Marg look amateurish. He gave 101 excuses not to fight prime Cotto at 147. He created roadblock after roadblock when it came time to fight Pac. If he refuses to fight Canelo and demands Canelo come down to 147, it will be quite obvious that the common demoninator when it comes to fights not happening is FLOYD!

It doesn't matter man. The guy has a 154 pound belt that he hasn't defended in over a year. I don't care why he hasn't defended it or the fact that he wants to campaign at 147, he didn't drop the belt so he is obligated to face challenges for that belt from legit 154 pound fighters. Lara is his mandatory and furthermore, people need to quit blaming others or making up excuses for Canelo calling him out. If Floyd didn't have a belt, the story would be completely different but he does have a belt and him holding on to it is his own fault.
