Comments Thread For: Jose Gonzalez: Ricky Burns' Belt is The Perfect Gift

Jose Gonzalez has revealed he wants Ricky Burns' WBO lightweight title to take home as a Mother's Day present as he prepares to take on the Coatbridge champion at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday night.

The unbeaten mandatory challenger from Puerto Rico and Burns both tipped the scales at 9st 8lbs and half an ounce at the weigh-in at the city's St Enoch shopping centre.

With the countdown until both fighters step into the ring now started, Gonzales talked about one special reason for wanting to win.

"If I win the fight it is going to be a special moment for me and my family," said the 29-year-old.

The proper Mothers Day was in March.

Burns by UD about 8 rounds to 4.

I'd imagine that'd be a awkward mothers day If he lost...
"Yeah Mom... I kind of was meaning to get you something else but ah well here I am!! With two black eyes and a swollen up face what else do you need?"

I wish Chelo could get the win but the truth is he has to much against him.
Fighting in opponents back yard and taking a big step up in comp thanks to horrible mach making by his team. He just isn't ready for Burns.
Burns by UD maybe even later round stoppage.
I hope I'm wrong I like the Mexico vs PR wars
and PR is lacking at the moment. WAR CHELO!

A broken wrist is a lame mothers day gift, but maybe its a PR thing.
