Your choice for overrated / underrated boxer and why?

Who are your selections for most overrated and underrated fighters. Doesn't matter if it's current or from the past.

Overrated: Adrian Broner- I like him offensively but he just seems like he is tailored for a good power puncher based on sacrificing defense for offense

Underrated: Bradley- what he lacks in size he makes up with in heart as well as having an underrated boxing IQ and stamina

    bad list.

broner is a very good young fighter, and he's hated and proclaimed as a hype job. he does not get hit a lot for a top fighter at the world level.

tim bradley has been seen as being around the top of the game for a while and is on the p4p list. while he's certainly got heart, he's never looked like a terrific WW to me, and he just went life and death with ruslan provodnikov. a p4p fighter beats ruslan provodnikov easily.

provodnikov has been an espn level fighter and sparring partner for his entire career.

I can respect that but keep in mind it's relative. I believe Broner is a good fighter and would say B to B+ level....but feel that the hype along with his personality is getting some to see him as the A-A+ level. His last fight was a little of an eye opener for me and I won't bring up a past fight based on his progression but I do feel it's a matter of time. Good fighter? Yes...p4p? Not for me.

Bradley although on past p4p lists by some always seemed like someone not really given his due. Yes he has declined and his last fight should not have been so hard on paper. I think part of it was attempting to be "crowd pleasing"

Overrated- Canelo, atleast overhyped. Especially with all the crap threads being made over the last few weeks since he FIRST good win. People say he's the 3rd biggest draw(lol) and "the boxing world will take a huge hit if Canelo lost to Cotto!"

Underrated- Mares, Everybodys been talking about Rigo & Donaire but Mares been grinding it out against the best of the best he can possibly fight for Golden Boy and still doesn't get half the expose of Canelo, Rigo, Donaire, Mayweather, Sergio & GGG. Mares has gone through Perez, Agebeko 2x, Morel, Moreno & Ponce De Leon.

Peter Quillen gets a shout of too. I mean like Canelo & GGG he hasn't really done anything to get a ton of praise but GGG doesn't have a top 10 win but people ****** over him. Quillen could shock the world by taking over this division after destroying Geale and getting a huge unification with Sergio. Then a GGG fight would be huge!

Under-rated? Carl Froch - Not by all, but there are still many who claim he has little ability and shouldn't be near the P4P list - utterly ridiculous IMO.

Over-rated? Bradley. I've always thought he was over-rated, but on my scorecards he's coming off back-to-back losses...one of which came against a FNF level fighter.

            My list:

            Overrated:

Devon Alexander: Unquestionably no.1 on my list. Struggled badly against all the top guys he went up against, two gift decisions. His most significant win is beating a bloated Maidana, who didn't have a trainer two weeks before the fight.

            Underrated:

Argenis Mendez: He's ranked 3rd in his weight class, behind two very good fighters. But he may be the best in that weight class. His destruction over Salgado, was probably my fav. performance of the year.

                Overrated - Erislandy Lara.

Lara's a good fighter by all means but I don't think he's as good as fans on here claim.

                Not sure on underrated.

Cool that you went old school. And just out of curiosity why do you see him as underrated?

His style worked and he accomplished winning the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight titles, along with his Gold medal as a middleweight in the olympics. Always saw him as overlooked.
