I know this but I wanted to show it coming from HIS mouth. Listen to the rational he uses, he weighs all his options and then thinks of why he would win this fight. That doesn't sound like a guy looking for challenges, more like a guy looking how NOT to lose.

Not all if you read my words and how I respect him as an ATG. He will be top 5 ATG when it's said and done in my opinion. I just wish we would have seen better challenges from him earlier on.

Floyd nuthuggers will duck this thread. FLOYD really is the greatest cherry picker and he fools even his dumb ass fans into thinking his opponents aren't cherry picks. Ain't foolin no one but his fans. I bet the PPV did like 600k

Everything is subjective and I think that the longer time passes, the better fighters become. I call it the Bert Sugar effect.

I have my opinions of Floyd but the man is a masterful boxer. He is amazing defensively and his right hand might be one of the best all time.

Floyd poses a problem for any of the greats if we had a time machine and fought them against each other.

Floyd is truly great, he just doesn't or hasn't challenged himself the way I would have liked to see in his career but that's why he's 43-0.

It still all comes back to money~

You can fight a guy who is fairly highly thought of but one you should beat for 30 million, or you can fight someone more challenging (who is that currently talking at his current weight) for about the same. For a guy to take a challenge it has to make sense especially when you reach the highest level and business is a very important aspect of the thought process, how many times above 30 million does it become worth it to take a risky fight when you can easily make 30 million a fight.

If you put yourself in Floyd's shoes, you can say you would do different and who knows maybe you are a different sort who is motivated by something other than greed (greed is just as valid a motivating factor as any, greed is good) but I would reckon most people in Floyd's shoes would operate in a similar fashion (and looking at boxing history I would say it bears that out).

Those are fair points but when in a boxers career that has achieved the pinnacle like Floyd do you stop looking at money and start looking at legacy and challenges?

I remember hearing in an interview where they asked Chavez Sr why he moved up and fought some of the guys he did and he said because he wanted to test himself above all else.

I just think Mayweather has been handled perfectly but you can't say it's ONLY about the money because he took less money for example to fight Baldomir instead of fighting Margarito for a guaranteed 8 million.

But the legacy thing is something used to take a shot at floyd because he is so arrogant about his standing in the history of the sport. I mean Ali, SRl fought who they did because they were around. Larry Holmes, Wlad, Marlon STarling all fought everyone too but there everyone isn't as good.

This weekend he was very humble regarding his place. As a result, the media focused only on his performance and nothing else because he didn't go there.
