Comments Thread For: Garcia: Juanma Has Nothing To Lose, He is Dangerous

If you’ve convincingly beaten the man who twice throroughly beat the man you’re about to fight, it’s natural to feel confident about winning.

Mikey Garcia is too smart and too mature, though, to grow overconfident as he prepares for the first defense of his WBO featherweight title against former champion Juan Manuel Lopez on June 15 in Dallas. Garcia (31-0, 26 KOs) realizes Lopez (33-2, 30 KOs) desperately needs to dethrone him if the popular Puerto Rican challenger is to regain his star status and Garcia is approaching their HBO “Boxing After Dark” main event accordingly. Its not what Juanma has to lose, its what he's already lost. He wasn't the same in the 2nd Salido fight and from the rumors I heard about his untelevised fights was that he didn't look that good. Still, I will watch the fight.

I think Juanma has everything to lose. If he gets dominated and stopped by Mikey he may just end up being a stepping stone for future prospects. I reckon this is his last call.

This is gonna be a good fight I honestly think that Garcia is going to knock him out cold with a really beautiful well placed counter in the middle rounds
