Showtime Exec. and Fat Dan take jabs at each other

    Stephen Espinoza ‏@StephenEspinoza 43m
As between accuracy & immediacy, I'll take accuracy every time. Being first to say something is meaningless if what you say is wrong

    Dan Rafael ‏@danrafaelespn 30m
@StephenEspinoza How those PPV numbers coming along?

I think Fat Dan is wrong though this fight was tracking very well on fight night and was massive on twitter. I feel it will be 1 million +.

Out of interest, what is there to ensure that Showtime provides an honest figure?

that can be said for any fight, but i think something to do with the amount of money made and tax reason so they cant report false numbers. I cant remember exactly but something like that

Showtime part of CBS, publicly traded, books have to be open to a certain extent. Doesn't mean they can't fudge the numbers somewhat (companies cook the books all the time) but it does provide some sort of check and balance.

If Dan was so confident in his sources why hasnt he wrote about it on ESPN.com?

Can showtime just release the numbers? How long does it take to count PPVs, which is done by a computer anyway?

If low they just won't report it. This is what happens when you're Constantly bringing up ppv to define your legacy. Now dont get mad when everyone scrutinizes your numbers for every fight.
