I don't see how Jones-Tarver 2 has even three votes. The first fight had a somewhat controversial decision, and it was never out of the realm of possibilities that Jones might lose the rematch. Did people think he would get KTFO? No, but a competitive fight was expected. Nothing like Tyson-Douglas.

depends if u were watching the fights live or reading about it the next day...round by round Douglas grew more confident...really pummbling him.. most REAL boxing fans knew that beating tysons began taking round after round..the way the fight was going...that it would end in similar fashion..u were more in shocked that the fight was sooooo one sided...than the ko if u were watching live...if u picked up the paper the next day uve been dumbfounded...with jones..it was completely shocking bc Jones still seemed like Jones until the ko...so with the paper or watching live it was unreal

I was having a bit of trouble picking between the two at first. But, like a lot of people have said, Jones was hurt several times in the first fight with Tarver and only won a narrow decision. While with Tyson... he was destroying everyone.

Really I don't need to go further than this, Tarver was viewed as a hell of a fighter, even if you take away the first fight he was the clear next best guy to Jones.

People thought Buster had some talent but no one in the sport took him as a serious contender.

Getting knocked out by the next best guy is pretty much never as shocking as getting taken out by a guy who is not a serious contender.

Tarver was the better boxer who beat Roy Jones 3 times
while Douglas was K.Ded and escaped with long count against Tyson who has ill preparation , Douglas was lucky and it was the match of his life , if he met with tyson 100 times , Tyson would win 99 .

Tarver and jones already had a close fight, so the KO was not that surprising
