Anyway, Floyd vs. Canelo is the fight that needs to happen. I would definitely favor Floyd no matter what Canelo hydrates to. It will be tough but Floyd will be fine. This fight would be the biggest and highest grossing right now. It's a no brainer.

If Floyd doesn't fight Canelo in September, I would love to see a fight on CBS. Ideally, it would be between Floyd and Bradley but that doesn't seem feasible at the moment. Floyd has to fight on CBS during this last run though. It could really do wonders for the sport and his legacy.
People are implying that Floyd is a huge draw.....which he is a great draw against the right guys. By himself,Floyd isn't a HUGE draw. Canelo, on the other hand is unfortunately for Floyd, a very big draw and that carries weight. My feeling is that DLH is just dying for the final PPV numbers from "Mayday" to come out and he is hoping that they are "less than impressive".

He knows that he has a gold mine with Canelo and he knows how to call the shots. Floyd should have just signed to fight the kid back in January when he could call all the shots. If the numbers for this PPV don't look great, DLH will try to push Floyd around mostly in an attempt to get Floyd to walk away from the fight for pride's sake.

This will give him a chance to make easy money against Cotto, most likely in MSG, and have Canelo-Cotto do big numbers while Floyd fights Alexander. This will give Canelo maximum leverage for the third strike and Floyd will be feeling pressure from everywhere: GBP, Showtime (ready for some actual revenue after two sub-par PPV's), the media, fans, etc. It'll be the new Pac-May....it already has become that actually.

So the excuse is that the wba champion is too small to fight wbc champion. Smh fight night weight is all I hear. But I thought Floyd is an atg and Canelo is easy work??? Now ya want him to go to 147 to fight Floyd???

And how far did that get him? Ok then man phuck trying to please people who don't care about me and want to see me hurt bad. Simple if you don't like Floyd or not a fan of his pay him ZERO mind! But it is clear that your a fan because you seem to appear on all his threads like a true groupie... Hating but deep down inside admiring greatness.

Yeah he needs to come out and say it so none I us haters can really complain much. Floyd should really fight his last fight at MW or legacy. Take on a legit champ at that weight which will probably be GGG. If he loses he lost to a legit MW champ and Floyd is no middle weight so can't really knock him for trying to fully test himself but if he were to win wow he would elevate to top 10 maybe all time.
Who knows but I say take the fight with ginger it's not that much of a risk because Floyd's skills are far superior than Canelos and Canelo is a big 154.

Money still has the skills, technique and ring IQ to BOX circles around him.
notice I said Box not Brawl.

He's been fighting bigger men his entire career. And always went up and never made a fighter come down to his weight. EVER. and thats a fact. He made 1 fighter come UP in weight is whole career and it was after a 2 year layoff. which was Marquez. everyone knows theres a big difference in adding weight then there is in losing weight because when you lose weight you sacrifice punching power, and stamina, and explosiveness.

He's never had a catchweight where hes made a guy come DOWN in his whole career.

He came up against De La Hoya.
He came up against Cotto after he avenged his loss Margarito
He came up against Chico (corrales )
              He came up against Judah
              He destroyed Gatti
He rematched Castillo to remove doubt
He beat up on Mosely after he TKO'd Margarito
He beat up on Ortiz after the fight of the year.
              He beat up on N'Dou
              He beat up on Manfreddy
              He beat up on Hernandez
              He beat up on Corley
              He outboxed Baldomir.
He beat up on Hatton when he was undefeated

And now he has this Cherry Picker trend going around because of the idiot pacquiao fans who started watching his career in 2008. a man who fights at catchweights, and only off losses like he's doing now with Rios. He fought EVERYONE of notice after Floyd did. Never beat Marquez convincingly . Loss To Morales. and KO'd by Marquez. 55-5 Pac is.

And has no one of notice besides, De La Hoya, Mosely, Cotto, Marquez, Morales, Hatton and Margicheato

De La Hoya, Cotto, Margarito: CW's and DLH off a loss to Floyd at a CW
Mosely off a LOSS to Floyd
              Marquez KO'd him
Hatton after Floyd took his undefeated record.
And Margarito after Shane beat him up and exposed him.

He's gotten by for too long without doing s***.

Money is 44-0. 1 split decision, 26 KOS, the rest UD's and RTD's. and he talks a lot of s***. but he works harder then anyone in the sport.

I hope he beats up on Canelo. then beats on Pacquiao just to shut so many of you people up.

I hate that he got his entire career gets discredited because of 1 guy who hasnt done anything and has no fighters on his resume that mean anything besides the ones Floyd beat first, and as well.

He's been doing it since 96.

If this fight does get approved with a rehydration limit.

              EXPECT A CLASSIC FLOYD UD.

Have you ever heard about a boxing legend called " Marco Antonio Barrera " ?! a win for pacquiao which is better than anything Mayweather ever did in his career !

everyone with eyes and brain can say that ( Mosley , DLH , Cotto ) are all joke fights with father past-their-prime fighters .
I don't give credit for Pacquiao for fighting them too ( except Cotto who was more fresh )

Mayweather has **** resume , open your eyes
Pacquiao is a higher ATG for sure
but IMHO they are not even top 20 ATG

and I agree with you , Alvarez is going to get exposed against Mayweather , I give Alvarez ZERO chance of winning with his current footwork , stamina and defense .

Ok. So we agree on two things. If the May Day numbers aren't good, there will be pressure on Floyd to fight Canelo. This can't really be disputed. Also, a Canelo-Cotto fight would help build Canelo's star power (750,000-900,000 buys).

The two biggest draws in the sport are Floyd and Pacman. A few rungs down the ladder are Cotto and Canelo. Canelo's arrow is going up while Cotto's is falling. Floyd by himself gets you 750,000-900,000. He is a big draw period. Canelo is not a bigger draw than Mayweather or Pacman. If he's by himself, Canelo's fight will be on Showtime not PPV. I feel Canelo has the potential to be a superstar but as of right now he is mostly popular with just Mexican boxing fans. How popular is he with other demographics? A large amount of casual fans I know wouldn't recognize ginger nor recall seeing him fight. This is despite him being on the mayweather undercard in the past. On the other hand, everyone knows Floyd.

Brook conveniently "gets injured".........AGAIN and Alexander gets to fight Purdy instead. People ask, "why freakin Lee Purdy?" Because freaking Purdy is an easy win that won't cause any damage leaving Floyd with another opponent coming off of a win.

The fight is happening in a week which leaves PLENTY of time before September. Floyd's opponent for September has already been selected......
Alexander? No way in hell that happens after ShowTime sees the Mayweather/Guerrero numbers. Alexander will do way worse.

They'll blame the numbers on Guerrero. If the next one drops, Showtime will start to look at Floyd; he'll get one more shot.
