        Remember?
May 5, 2007 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather -- 2,520,000 PPV units...
Like I've stated over and over and over and over.... if he is willing to concede like Floyd did to get the ODL fight.... the Canelo can get his in Sept.

So what is more important to Canelo... getting his demands met... or getting the fight?

We know what Floyd thought was more important.. he conceded.. he got the fight.

Ball is in your court Canelo...

        • Don't understand why people are against this fight.
What am I missing? Are you saying you'd rather see
Alexander vs Mayweather on Sept 14?

We are talking about where they are in their careers right now. Having said that it's not even true that canelo is way ahead. How much money was Floyd making when he was fighting in Michigan? Anywhere that's not important.
The guy has gate takings of $400 000 and he's demanding a fight and setting conditions with someone who has gate takings of over $16m?
He even has the audacity to demand the weight the way he's been doing with the likes of Lopez.
Some people are obviously ******ed. He looks at the arena and sees 40 000 people. He forgets that those people are only important if they are willing to pay. Cant you see the strategy here. They think they can fool people by hyping Canelo as this guy who sells massive arenas. Dude people paid $10 each, a damn $10 compared to the $3000 some people pay to watch Floyd fighting.
Even the PPV, dont you think if Canelo was that popular as they claim he would have headlined his own ppv by now? If Canelo fights Cotto, Cotto will be the A side because Cotto has headlined PPVs before, if Canelo fights Mayweather the same goes. As it is now Canelo is a nobody. People are willing to pay for Khan than for canelo. Khan is even a bigger brand than Canelo. It's all about revenue generated not just some people paying nothing filling stadiums.
You've written some gash in the past, but this is just eyewatering!

                From the WBA site:

                "PROPOSED REGULATION

We are still working to set the regulation that shall rule the SUPER WORLD CHAMPIONS, and we have considered it convenient to establish the following:

                1) The SUPER CHAMPIONS will be obliged to make the mandatory defense of their titles in a period no longer than 18 months against the boxer recognized as the World Boxing Association Champion of the corresponding division.
2)In the intermediate period between the mandatory defenses, the UNDISPUTED SUPER CHAMPION will be able to defend his title against any recognized opponent chosen from the official ratings list of the WBA or from the organizations it recognizes and with the approval of those organizations.
                3) The WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO will coordinate whenever necessary their respective ratings, to minimize any incompatibility in them for the Unified Titles, thus easing the optional fights of the UNIFIED SUPER CHAMPIONS.
4)In those cases of controversies that make difficult the selection of the mandatory contender to fight with the SUPER CHAMPION, the organizations will be able to order mandatory fights (Box-off suggested by Lennox Lewis) to determine the mandatory contender –previously agreed-. In those cases when they do not reach an agreement to make the mandatory fight as it is stated in point ‘a’ and ‘b’ previously stated in this provisional regulation, the Purse Bid Procedure will be ordered."

                  • I will say this, I said a while back that the only person/styles that I truly see that would be problems for Floyd would be Canelo and Pwills. For various reasons but both very tough. Up until the Trout fight, even though Floyd is my favorite fighter, I though that Canelo was the one to beat him. People can only be judged by their last fight basically so when I saw Floyd/Cotto and Canelo's fights I said this may be the one. However, after watching the Trout fight I think Canelo's chances of beating Floyd (especially the reinvigorated more defensive Floyd) have decreased. The main thing is Canelo's workrate. He fights in spurts and for only about a minute a round or so. He cannot do that with Floyd. I do not think Floyd could take hard, clean shots from Canelo all night, however I am not sure Canelo will be landing those all night. It really is a toss up fight but I have a feeling people, even including myself yes, may be underestimating Floyd again. I do not think it would be easy work necessarily but I could see Floyd winning by UD. However, I think Canelo is the real deal and I could still see him winning depending on how he fights.
