Is there really anyone currently who would actually be a close favorite to win? Or would anyone he fights be a big underdog?
The Pacquaio who beat their common enemies, Oscar, Hatton, Mosley and Cotto without making a sweat. If these guys gave Floyd a run for his money, Pacquaio will do much better.
To beat Pac you must have a confidence to do so and we all know Floyd was scared of Pacquaio (OST, 100/0 PPV, Pac you are next but I never said that, my health comes first, bouncing bullets on his ass, etc.).
Invincible men only exist in the movies. As new stars make their rise, we must remember that Floyd is on his way down. Somewhere out there is a fighter even hungrier than him, who wants it just as bad.. and he doesn't even know it yet.
I agree 100%. Size will never beat Floyd. He will simply be too fast for them. It will take speedier fighters to give him problems. Although Berto, Khan, and Alexander have struggled against other fighters, they have the tools to give an older Mayweather problems and make it very interesting. I don't think they have the smarts to beat him, but they would challenge Floyd in a way that slower flat footed fighters couldn't.
Is that right?? Den den why come Canelo and Martinez are too (big) for him den, huh??
Floyd's fans speculating on his behalf. You do it brilliantly. He couldn't do it better himself. When has the theory been tested that size will never beat Floyd? Never. He won't test it himself, so Floyd fans, award him the beat down victory in fantasy fight land, per usual. I, myself, don't believe it.
Pacman has declined. when the fight was hot, I thought he had a great chance to beat Mayweather, but Mayweather ducked. I give Canelo a good chance. He has more than size going for him though, but that would be an advantage. Can you tell your hero what you just said here about how he could never lose to Canelo and convince him? Then we could maybe see an interesting fight. However, I don't think he believes your words; therefore, the fight will not happen.
Actually, I just became a fan of Floyd. For years I've rooted against him, but the truth is, there is no fighter around with his ability, experience, and skill set. I might be a fan now, but you sound like you're an even bigger hater.
Cotto and De La Hoya were bigger than Floyd, but were overcome by his speed. They claim those 2 were passed their prime. Who really knows that? I hope like hell Floyd decides to fight Canelo, probably worst than anyone on this forum. It is an insult to the sport and simply a lack of boxing IQ to think a 23 year old kid who has never beaten the best at his own weight, would beat the best of this era. The Trout fight was very close and by no means showed any evidence that he was ready for the next level. But everyone looks for a SAVIOR to come along and dethrone this man. If Canelo was smart, he would wait until close to the end of Floyd's contract with Showtime to challenge him. Floyd will be 39 years old and Canelo 26 and hitting his prime. Then he would be favored to win IMO.
Just because a fighter has a big fan base and extremely popular and fed smaller hand picked opponents to dominate, does not mean he is ready for Mayweather. Its fighters like Khan, Berto, and Alexander who most fans hate on that stand the best chance. Its hand and foot speed plus high volume punchers that give problems to aging fighters who depend on their speed and reflexes. So yes, I pray that Canelo gets the opportunity to fight Floyd. I'm pissed that Floyd never fought Pac. He missed the opportunity to not only prove to his fans, but the whole world that he is the best and most dominant fighter of this generation. What will they say when his speed, skill, and experience makes Canelo look like an amateur??? "Oh, Canelo simply wasn't ready for the elite."
