This was probably in response to the one about Floyd-Guerrero.....but the difference is Guerrero is in Floyd's weight class and a top fighter at that weight when the fight happened.

This thread is terrible. Canelo has one good win on his record, and thats trout which was years after he won his title. I know the point of the thread is to hate on floyd and match the other thread, but Lopez had no business being at 154 and just wanted a pay day, he looked terrible against ortiz overall but ortiz is made of plastic and crumbled. Canelo still isn't even considered a great fighter yet, have him fight more 154lb champs or top rated guys. Hell have him at least continue to fight real 154lbers and I'll be happy.

Why do I feel like this is a very smart comparison to the recent Floyd vs. Guerrero fight.

People might want to stop taking this thread at face-value and think a little deeper into this.

Lopez is a less skillful version of Mike Alvarado. Yes, a less skillful version of Mike Alvarado beat Victor Ortiz.

Guerrero's entire career > Lopez + any offspring he produces's entire careers combined.

But Guerrero's whole career = Berto coming off a PED suspension. I know Ortiz beat him at 146, but Berto was undefeated and presumably on PEDs. Hell, I'd probably take Lopez' 2nd best win, Mike Dallas over Guerrero's 3rd best. Aydin probably knocks out Dallas, but Aydin is a rank bum just the same

Floyd didn't lose the fight, nor did he look back in the fight so a new angle has to be used to criticise him.
This isn't to bash Floyd. I've never even mentioned him, others have. Maybe they're just jealous that Saul has put on a more dominant display of boxing against his opponent. What Floyd has to do with this , Idk. Can't you simply appreciate the performance put on by Canelo without crying about Floyd? Seriously, what's more impressive than a fighter KOing his opponent? He destroyed him with pure skill.

Well in all honesty Coldcashcanelo hit the nail on the head. So Floyd beat up the Ghost, but that does nothing to prove he's the greatest active fighter or top pfp fighter at the moment.

Rigo beat a legitimate top pfp fighter and actually got bashed. While Floyd got praised for winning a fight he was supposed to for 70 bucks lol!!

Canelo looked good in spurts, but that's why he got bashed a bit....because of the lackluster output and because he gassed after 4-5 rounds. But he was still able to beat Trout, good for him.

Floyd really only got praised because he showed stuff that people didn't think he had anymore.

Either way, comparing Guerrero to Lopez is awful. Lopez is a 140 fighter, who could potentially fight at 147 and beat Ortiz, though he was clearly losing the fight against Ortiz. And than Canelo fought him at 154 lbs.

Guerrero was at least a top ranked guy at 147, Floyd's weight.
