I've always wondered why he wouldn't switch to Mayweather Sr. That looks like a good fit, as long as there is a translator

      Personalities would clash.

Cotto barely listens to his trainers anyway and likes to run his own training camps.

I think he prefers soft-spoken yet dedicated over loud and obnoxious.

Besides, neither Roach or Floyd Sr. are very intelligible in the first place.

If Cotto wants white noise then he probably prefers it on low volume.

This isn't a good sign. Cotto needs a strong personality like his uncle to keep him at 147. 154 is too comfortable a weight for him to make. Cotto wants to maintain too much control of his own camp. im thinking he needs to hire a soft spoken bad ass like Virgil Hunter.

I guess this is a personality driven change.. Diaz was too strong for Miguel? Bunping heads? Or was it the game plan for the Trout fight? May be he told him that his mother had to come out of his training cMps...too much of a distractor? We need more info!!!

Cotto is a moron, Diaz is a great trainer. Roach, not so much. Freddy will try to turn Cotton into an offensive punching bag, which will lead to Cotto getting KO'd. ****** decision by Cotto.

why didn't Diaz's training work against trout?

answer: that loss had nothing to do with Diaz, Cotto is too small for Jr MW

doesn't matter who's in Cotto's corner, he'll get whipped by the ginger. he ain't no Cherrypicker

Big mistake. The only way Cotto is beating Canelo is by out boxing him and that not the gameplan he will bring with Roach.

Miguel sought positive change with Diaz and he found it. Now Cotto thinks he can find the same good fortune with another coaching change. Unfortunately, Miguel has lost a step and he's fighting outside of his best weight. Even the greatest coach won't bring back Cotto's best days.

Cotto needs to stop playing musical chairs with trainers, pedro diaz was a great fit IMO.
