Mares doesn't win that one. He gets devastatingly knocked out. He was having serious trouble with Ponce. And although he knocked him out, he couldn't stop the left hand.

Is Mares good, yeah he is. But don't judge donaire on his last fight, donaire is a class. He's last fight, he fought someone who was superior to him. Bottom line. Donaire was outclassed by a elite.
