A 44th opponent realizes what boxing greatness is truly about.

And then the entire boxing world realized there is no blueprint on how to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr.

There are great fighters in the top ten P4P, that Floyd jr should be fighting who are more worthy than Robert Guerrero & Ortiz.

Because I agree with you 154 is not Floyds most dominate weight class. Against Canelo Floyd would be giving up age and weight.
Incredibly insightful post. Everyone is always asking Floyd to move up, but no one asks Canelo and Sergio to move down.

I honestly believe Floyd should stay at 147. He has been dominating the sport for 15 years and it isn't his fault that he wiped out his generation of welterweight boxers and that he's schooling the younger guys he fights. Floyd is the champion and pound 4 pound best and if I were him I'd make Canelo come down to 147. The CHAMP gets to make those type of calls. How fair is it that just because Canelo (a fighter that weighs close to 180 on fight night) calls him out Floyd should move up and fight him? If Vitali klitchko called him out would you expect him to go up to heavyweight just to give Vitali a shot? Or what if Donaire called him out. would you expect Floyd to drop down to 126 and fight him? Another way to shine light on the Mayweather biased is to ask why doesn't anyone mention that Pacquiao should fight Canelo? If Pacquiao fought Canelo and won, that would be him right back in the mix for a Floyd fight. Why isn't the public pushing for that? If you want to beat the champ then YOU should have to go beat the champ. With that being said if Canelo doesn't want to come to 147 Mayweather should keep cleaning out welterweight division. I would love to see him fight Broker though they're both 147 pound fighters now. Adrien has to be a fool to let his "admiration" of Floyd keep him from making that money

            Floyd should be fighting Pacquiao.

"But he lost twice." Oh get over it. Bradley was a joke decision. Marquez and Pacquiao have had 4 intense fights, and it just so happened that Marquez got the better of Pacquiao in the 4th in a big way.

I know Floyd shut out Marquez, but styles make fights. Counter puncher vs counter puncher plays into the longer counter puncher's hands. Somebody had to press the fight and get out of their comfort zone, and May got JMM to do that.

Pacquiao has a sharp lead left and quick feet. He won't stand in front of Floyd waiting to be popped by the lead right like the majority of his recent opponents have done. If Mayweather fought him like he fought Guerrero, hands down, leaning forward, Pacquiao would nail him (clue: Mayweather won't do that). That alone makes it an interesting fight.

Pacquiao is the fighter of the decade 00-10. He is the most decorated fighter of his era. That is who Mayweather should have been fighting the last 5 years and who he still should be fighting, defeats or not.

Hey man, Pac is still sleeping from the shot from JMM. When Pac wakes up then they can talk.

I truly think Floyd could be one of the best boxers ever but the big difference between him and the other greats is they always fought the best, if they had to move up in weigth they would still fight the best. Floyd only cares about getting the easiest pay day, he always find a guy coming off a big that he know can help generate some PPV #'s.
He already ran away from a stacked WW division 4-5 years ago, and instead of fighting a prime Cotto, Mosley, Margarito or Williams, he fought Hatton and retired. He could have moved up in weight in the last year and fought Martinez who I think he would beat and is a true top 10 p4p fighter, but instead he has fought smaller guys moving up in weight that earned the fight by beating Berto, and Berto is not that good.
Floyd please, make your last 5 fights against that best competition out there, not based on a risk/reward scenario like you have done your whole career.

If Pacquaio was the fighter of the decade, why didn't he win the 'Fighter Of The Decade' trophy when he fought Marquez?

Cotto and Margarito were with Top Rank. Mosley told old man Larry Merchant that he'd needs to take a vacation and get his tooth fixed when asked about Floyd calling him out. Williams was barely relevant.

LOL, To all the Floyd Haters/Lovers. Its funny that Floyd just beat a blown up featherweight but couldn't finish him off for who ever put that comment up. And for those saying Canelo should come down. Canelo is a light middle weight or super WW, 154lbs. Floyd has been bouncing back in forth from 147-154 sense Oscar Del Hoya. He just beat Cotto at 154 and you think Canelo should move down, get real!! Now all the ****TTT i heard before the Trout vs Canelo fight and now this fight that Floyd would just hand him his butt!!! LOL So Canelo now needs to move down to 147 for it to be fair. So who is making the excuses now?
