I'm the same. I've never been in favour and will not give Haye credit for a Charr win. It's a disgrace that Charr even gets this much coverage from Haye, let alone a Championship fight with Klit.

I do give props to Wlad that he trains and prepare for each fight like a Champion. however I believe dudes from my gym could KO this ass in first 3 rounds. Pianeta couldn't even hold himself in the ring, kept kneeing and hugging ropes. I mean what the **** was that? For christ sake he just made enough money to open a restaurant and he blew a chance to make more money fighting better competition. sack of crap, Dimitrenko's lvl if not worse. I don't care if heavyweight is weak now..but, fighters just don't want to try.
I pray for Povetkin and Haye to fight good. Make Wlad look silly and lost, and we
ll see something new from Wlad as well. all these fighters mentally lost before they step against Klitschkos. anyways..whos nex?Comment

Ive always said Wlad and Larry Holmes were the most worthless and boring of the legit Heavyweight champions.
-Weak eras
- scumbag managers (Boente/King)
- never had to fight their greatest peers(Vitali, Foreman)
- outshined by welterweights in popularity (Floyd, Ray Leonard)
-desperately tried to emulate their predecessors(Lennox,Ali)
They are supremely skilled, dont get me wrong. but they will never get past a ranking of #9 on my top 10 list. Mundane, watered down versions of Ali and Lennox.Comment

I agree that Holmes was way way in the shadow of Ali. And it wasn't necessarily all his fault it was a matter of bad timing. As far as for Wlad in emulating Lewis. I believe that is a ridiculous statement and this is why. So many claim that this is a weak era in heavyweight boxing when in reality it has been pretty weak since the end of Ali's reign. In my opinion this is why.Ive always said Wlad and Larry Holmes were the most worthless and boring of the legit Heavyweight champions.

Holmes fought some horrible opponents and his best three wins were over a washed up Ali an overrated Cooney and a fighter who didn't even win his belt in the ring in Norton. He then lost to Spinks not once but twice.
Tyson beat two Hall of Fame fighters. One was a washed up Holmes and the other a scared 5hitless Spinks. With that said. Tyson beat most of his opponents in such spectacular fashion most fans didn't notice how average most of them actually were. How average? Read on.
Beside the two Hall of Fame fighters Tyson beat he fought seven alphabet belt holders in Berbick, Smith, Thomas, Tucker. Tubbs, Bruno and Seldon. Out of those seven champions only two had successful title defenses. They were Thomas and Seldon who each had one successful title defense.
I guess the argument can be made that they were all as equally as good as one another. But since I watched all of those fights I would say it was more so that they were as equally average as one another. Hell, even Douglas couldn't muster a single successful title defense after he knocked Tyson out.
Lewis also only had two wins over Hall of Fame fighters. A 37 year old Holyfield and a Tyson that was already washed up at 35 years of age. He lost to very sub par fighters in spectacular fashion. With that said he should get credit for beating both of them, but it still happened.
I also believe that Vitali will be in the Hall of Fame so he has to be counted. As far as that fight I will say that it was no doubt a legit stoppage. But Lewis was losing and I still wonder what would happened if not for the cuts. But it is what it is and as I said it was a legit stoppage.
That leaves Wlad. And most part I believe that his career hasn't been all that different than the fighters I have already mentioned. Because other than the fact that Wlad didn't have a couple of washed up Hall of Fame fighters to beat up their careers are pretty comparable. And if Wald had been born in the USA, most likely no one would have noticed anyways.
Oops, I forgot all about Holyfield and by accounts he was a pretty decent heavyweight and should have been included.Comment

Absolutely spot on. A great assessment coming from an unbiased Eastern European Vitali fan.

However, disagree about the 90s era. Other than Lennox, Tyson and Holyfield, that era was filled with pretty good talent. Bowe, Bruno, Morrison, Moorer, Ruddock, Briggs, Tua, McCall, Mercer, Golota and even Foreman.
These guys would have looked like a million dollars in todays division. And the best part was, they all fought each other, beat and lost to each other and at the end of that was Lennox Lewis.Comment
