  • what every heavyweight lacks today!!!

“If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it - then I can achieve it.”

“Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

    You're right, they lack heart.

They also lack a decent inside game.

Tell that to the current champion who had to bounce back from three devastating KO losses.

Ask him what those quotes mean to him.

Pointless having an inside game when you've got pu55ies getting away with holding at every opportunity.

Why single out the heavyweight division? What every heavyweight lacks? What about the little guys who "don't wanna take risks", what about the little guys who milk their titles so they can get "paid", what about the little guys who don't want to fight dangerous fighters, what about the little guys who use the "high risk-low reward excuse"?

You can say this about every division. I could say:

            "What every middleweight lacks today"
            "What every lightweight lacks today"

            Etc, etc.

This whole "high risk low reward" thing is a SPORT wide- boxing problem. Not a heavyweight problem. In fact the conseus HW champ of the world came back from 3 devastating KO losses to have one of the most successful and dominant title reigns in boxing history (inb4 Wlad fights bums and he's not good)

There have actually been good HW fights recently and quite a few contenders/prospects fighting each other. I.e: Glazkov-Scott, fury- cunnigham, stiverne-Arreola, Pulev-fury coming up, etc....... Something that can be said is NOT happening In a lot or other divisions.

Just look at the Peter Quillin interview about GGG posted here from the other day

I wonder who your favorite fighters are, I bet I can say the same about them.

A lot of people seem to hate on the HW division for some reason; but recently it's been picking up and contenders have been fighting. Where as people completely ignore all the ducks and "high risk low reward" mentalities of the smaller division.

No hate. But this is a sport wide problem, for you to single out the HW division is a bit silly, IMO.

No it's worse in the HW division. What other division does the title holders get away with fighting opponents that have never beaten a top 50 fighter as voluntary defences?

What other divisions has a 6'7 240+ monster who strikes fear in everyone's heart? No seriously, guys come out OPENLY and state they're not ready for a fight with Wlad. What's Wlad supposed to do? Not fight? The state of the heavyweight division is not his fault. He has every right to stay busy against someone decently ranked when no other fights are available. At least Pianeta is In shape and undefeated. He's not fighting an overweight, fat lazy guy at the very least. Name ONE HW champion in the history of boxing who hasn't made a title defense against a guy like Pianeta. Please do.... Ill wait...

The top 10 guys simply do NOT want to fight or aren't ready yet, at least not for a May 4th fight. That's not his fault. If Anyrhing he should be praised for absolutely cleaning out the division years prior. Do you ever think that instead of Wlad "cherry picking a bum who hasn't beaten a top 50 fighter as a voluntary defense" , he's simply staying busy because after beating all of his mandatories, when time came to choose a new opponent, no one was willing to fight?

Povetkin for example. Olympic gold medalist, very skilled HW, ranked in the top 10 for years..... Ducked him for TWO years, and wanted absolutely no part of him until this year after racking up some defenses and gaining experiences.

Guys think they can beat Floyd, Manny, Donaire; and there IS ton of competition in all or their divisions and fighters to choose from...... Wlad on the other hand, guys simply DO NOT think they can beat him and there is a very, very small amount of opponents to choose from. Pulev, another Olympic fighter, very skilled, top ranked HW, has said he wants to defend his EBU title a couple times before he steps in with Wlad (and thas one of his biggest threats) do you think that is by accident???? NO.

Look at the top 10 HWS in the world and name ONE that would of accepted a title fight with Wlad on may 4th. (In b4 David Haye).... And besides, ALmost all of the top 10 HWs are busy with another fight at the moment anyway. So again I ask you, who else was he supposed to fight? Do you think he should just NOT fight because "Owned" on NSB says no? No, he fights the best available guy and that guy happened to be Pianeta. And again, at LEAST he's an in shape guy who is undefeated.

                    Not sure if serious.....
