I doubt it. Haymon doesn't put his marketable fighters up against high risk-low reward type of opponents like Lucas. That's probably why he signed him in the first place, so Danny won't have to fight him. He knows Danny is marketable and apparently he also knows Matthysse murders him.
Lucas aint murdering ****....he'll get beat by Peterson anyway so this Garcia-Lucas debate is irrelevant atm....Garcia-Peterson on Sept 7
If Peterson upsets Lucas, I have no doubt he's fighting Floyd in September probably. He'd have wins over Khan and Lucas, arguably be the #1 guy at 140. And I highly doubt Floyd-Canelo happens this September, Khan-Alexander will probably fight each other, there would really be no one else.

I agree and think Peterson will be the next opponent for Floyd, and certainly don't have a problem with that if he beats Lucas, but it would be nice if Peterson fought and beat Garcia or Alexander first in September before fighting Floyd. I think Floyd may find it difficult to sell a Peterson fight in September, and will probably put it off until December because of that.
They want an unification fight for Garcia...
As long as the Matthysse-Peterson bout is going to take place at the "catch weight" of 141 lbs (!?!), the IBF belt is not at stake...
Therefore, Peterson "is expected" to win and then offered a "sacrificial lamb" to Danny Garcia.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
