Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Mayweather Beat Tired, Not at His Peak Cotto

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has heard all this before.

He is getting too old. He is getting hit too much. He takes off too much time between fights.

These debatable possibilities all are fuel for anyone giving Robert Guerrero a chance to overcome odds (6-1) and a significant skill disadvantage Saturday night in Las Vegas (9 p.m., Showtime Pay-Per-View, $69.99).

Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs) definitely got hit more during his last fight against Miguel Cotto than we're used to seeing, perhaps more than in any scrap since his narrow win against Jose Luis Castillo in their first fight 11 years ago.

That's sad. The man sitting makingt all this money off Money and talks bad about him at every opportunity. Oscar is still mad about losing to Floyd and Floyd not giving him the rematch. Jealous bytch!!!!

And Cotto became a Mega-draw after this fight, because he was able to land a few jabs while getting the side of his skull caved in all night. Too bad it only lasted one fight.

it's too bad Floyd didn't fight Cotto in 08 like he shoulda done
he woulda beaten him worse and it actually woulda mattered
he still smoked Cotto clearly, but it was too late for it to be big
that was just a ho hum fight, albeit a decisive and lucrative win
Cotto is even worse off at JMW than Floyd, despite being bigger
and Cotto was way more past it than Floyd

So I guess Cotto will be rested and at his peak when ODLH tries to feed him to Canelo.
