Floyd's PPV failing would be the best thing for boxing right now!

This crappy Guerrero fight has got floms running around in full ******ed defense mode like headless chickens. In this thread we have heard that he can only fight at one weight(when everyone else should be hopping up and down divisions - Ward, Martinez, Matthyse, Garcia etc.) and that he shouldnt actually fight anyone between 147-154 because nobody, not even the 3rd ranked p4p fighter is worthy.

And canelo is not the only option. If Floyd says he's gonna fight, he's gonna fight. Even if its not canelo, he will bring in more than enough money to justify it unless he loses to Guerrero.

Well that's because u are thinking in a limited box with a limited set of rules. I know FeFist and he's one of the advocates for Floyd moving to 160. Sometimes u should slow down and understand clearly before u post.

          if you say so dude.

so your complaint is floyd makes people fight at the weight floyd feels most comfortable rather than fight them at a higher or lower weight where the opponent would be most comfortable.

          so what?

Since a floyd fight is the most money any fighter can earn (except maybe canelo/JCCjr vs each other) fighters below or above him move to his weight to fight him. No different than ODH when he was the king.

              Its really that simple.
in bold is a very true statement... i agree completely.
but if this is true, does that give pac a free pass???
people are quick to judge pac on his CW and "weight tactics", so does this statement in BOLD justify it? sorry for bringing pac up, but when the weight issue arises, it seems appropriate to compare.

floyd gets the same benefit as pac, IMO, since they are/were the kings of the sport. they call the shots. their opponents signed the contract, so i find it annoying when the weight excuses surface post-fight.

back to floyd, i think he can make 154 easy... proof was his size compared to mosley and cotto... floyd looked physically stronger and bigger than both. i think the reduced speed is more of a reflection of his inactivity and age.

Are you dense? As a boxing fan I want to see competitive fights ergo I'd be enthusiastic about Floyd fighting a fighter in his league. The fighters from 147-154lb are out of Floyd's league ergo I'm not interested in any of the potential match ups. It is a case of him collecting a pay check, me watching the same old, and no point being proven.

Or unless this fight does south of a mil and showtime needs a high profile fight for them to recoup losses which is what it looks like is going to happen.

Recoup losses for a ppv? Lol. Mayweather vs. Guerrero will bring in more money than any fight on ShowTime this year. What's wrong with ppl on this site? U must not be from America because I don't think u get the ppv system...at all.

even floyd "failing" will still be more money than what showtime is used to getting.

last big showtime ppv was pac i think.... fact check.
