Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia Eyes Move To 147 in The Near Future

WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) will soon invade the welterweight division. Last Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Garcia won a twelve round unanimous decision over Zab Judah. Garcia is probably going to have one more defense at 140 and then he wants to move up to challenge for welterweight gold.

Eventually I see all of them moving to 147 within the next couple of years. They wont be able to avoid each other forever.

        I think he's got 1-2 fights left at 140.

Peterson-Lucas winner in September. Than if he wins that, he could move to 147 and fight Devon Alexander, Victor Ortiz, Maidana/Lopez, Berto/Karass, Guerrero, etc.

If he wins this tourney, he's arguably the best option for Mayweather.

But guess what? The same way Rigo was willing to chase Donaire up to 126 is the same way Matthysse will chase you up to 147.

Don't be surprised if he moves up without fighting hid mando.

Matthysse is gonna hit PEDerson so hard that Garcia watching at home will develop another "injury".

September might be too soon for the Peterson-Matthysse winner. They fight on June 29, right? That's three months, not even probably. Peterson-Matthysse will probably be a war, I don't want to see them have to turn around and fight too soon after.

Man it would suck if Garcia vs. the winner of that fight was at 147. The whole point was to crown a king at 140.

EDIT: Okay, I'm thinking of a different fight on June 29. Nevermind.
