Comments Thread For: Judah is Picking Adrien Broner To Defeat Malignaggi

Former two division world champion Zab Judah is not backing his fellow Brooklynite, WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7KOs), to defeat WBC lightweight champion Adrien Broner (26-0, 22KOs) on June 22nd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Judah himself saw action at Barclays on Saturday night, losing a twelve round unanimous decision to WBC/WBA 140-pound champion Danny Garcia. After the match was over, Judah said he was backing Broner, who is moving up by two divisions, to capture his third title in his third weight class.

Gee whiz Zab, don't go out on a limb! Isn't this the same Paulie (except younger) who got mauled and brutalized by Ricky Hatton back in 2008 and whose corner mercifully threw in the towel? If he didn't have the power to back Ricky off then, Lord help him against Broner now.

Right. Fans know the purpose of this fight - make Broner look good. You think they made this fight to see Malignaggi win? People do love to see upsets, but this is not one of them.

Malignaggi has no power and he has a technical style, which means he will try to box. This will benefit Broner. Paulie might last 12 but a stoppage would surprise me. Wish he could have cashed in on a Hatton rematch. He'll still be a solid contender though.
