But, in round 11 when he was hurt bad he seemed to go back to his old ways of looking for a tear up at times and was fortunate to get away from it.
why impressed? you never saw him on the canvas before?

I agree, as i alluded to earlier he doesn't have the ring IQ/ craft to utilize his strengths optimally. He fights at 100 mph but thinks at 60. He certainly learns the hard way and doesn't make it easy for himself, pity cause his positives are all excellent.

if the problem was khan gets dropped too much, can never back a fighter up, and fights the definition of an amateur style, then what exactly changed this fight? He looked like the same khan I've known for years. More defensive before he got punched in the mouth, after he got punched in the mouth? Same dude.

Of Khan didnt have this new elite neck he would have been KO'd in the late rounds.

Now, if Khan didnt have this new elite neck and if there was a different ref, Khan would have been put to sleep by the 4th round.

go rewatch khan vs maidana/judah/malignaggi/peterson etc

only improvement is the hugging, but even then, his defense has gotten worse, and his chin, his chin is non-existent at this stage

he was more mobile, more agile, and definitely more exciting before, he's not only gotten worse as a fighter, and seems to have become more boring

Khans biggest problem is himself. At this point of his career no trainer well be able to change the way he fights and how easily he is drawn to a fight. He never properly adjusted to the professional level as its evident how he still fights like he did in the amateur's. The only thing that has been saving his skin up until now is his speed and his will to fight. That cannot be taken away from him. He well fight till the end no matter how hurt he is. He has fast hands but can't properly trow a straight punch and when he does let go of his hands he trows so many awkward punches that he even looses control of his hand and feet coordination. He can't seem to stop once he trows a flurry of punches. This kid had a lot of potential to be better then he is now if they would have corrected his mistakes from the get go. With his speed, height and reach they should of taught him to jab correctly, move side to side and control distance. That's what Hunter wants him to do now but its too late, Khan just can't seem to know when to jab and control distance and when he should attack. He just goes with the flow of the fight instead of settling into his own rhythm. Shame really
