I think he needs to not carried away with the Khan win, and that goes for the fans as well. His first fight with Morales and this Zab fight are probably a more accurate measure of where he is as a fighter. Still a way to go, I think deep down Angel knows this and will protect him and his career. If I was them I would avoid the Peterson-Matthysse winner for now, both of those guys are more experienced and seasoned professionals in my opinion. Not saying he couldn't win, because I think he could, but I wouldn't rush him if I had his best interest at heart.

Saying that, as a fan I hope it happens next. They are both rough fights for Danny, Peterson has more tools than him but I think Garcia has the power and timing to neutralise those advantages and Peterson can be hurt. With Matthysse I think Danny has the ability to outbox him and counter him, but he is very open to Matthysse's power, and based on last night could succumbe to Matthysse pressure.

garcia was wide and sloppy as usual. his chin was up and out in the open and zab only threw his signature uppercut like twice... wish zab took more risks early. it was unbelievable how open garcia was the entire fight.

Uh, I dont.... Peterson, Matthyse > Judah

        They arent careless pressure fighters.

I was impressed with Dannys right hand. All the talk leading up to the fight was Danny was a one trick pony. He only had a left, blah blah blah. Zab took away the left and he hurt him with the right. That proves Danny has power in both hands. He through his right straight. He looped it. And he countered with it. The guy can fight!!! His major deficiency is his stamina, which can be corrected. I give his performance a 7.5 out of 10. Not great not horrible.

I think if he stops throwing every single shot with bad intentions, his speed could improve a bit. He throws single shots so hard that he leaves himself wide open and is often a Lil off balance and looping his shots don't help much either.

If he could work on shortening his punches and throwing more combinations, he will be even more dangerous.

Garcia's a much better counterpuncher than people give him credit for and even though he's not fast, his timing is normally very good. The problem for him is that he's easy to hit and while he's fairly heavy handed, he's not a dynamite puncher either. If someone can trade with him and has decent power of their own he'll be in trouble, because he'll take too much. Garcia is ultimately a ****er, and there's a better ****er out there.

Garcia is a good fighter, but I don't see him being to hang in there with the likes of Peterson (who I think will win on the 18th) or even a guy like Adrian Broner at 140.
He was a able to land some huge bombs on a faded Morales and an exposed Khan. Last night proved if he can't do that he is in for a dog fight no matter who he is in with.

Danny was hurt and he didn't enjoy the feeling and caged up

That shot beat the respect into him

Its a shame Zab was unable to follow up with combos, if he had followed up I think he would have hurt Danny earlier

I posted this while Garcia was pounding on Judah...

And i stand by it. He is good, very good timing, good counter puching, very good chin etc. But we cant act like the lack of speed isnt going to be a problem, not just hand but foot speed and defensive reactions. Luckily for him there arent many guys that will expose that in his weightclass. Matthysse is one, Peterson could on a very very good day.

But you are right he wasnt exposed, he fought a very good version of Judah and perhaps needs to work on his conditioning a bit better.

Out of interest were there fight night weigh ins for this fight? Garcia looked huge to me. Maybe Judah was just small though...

no doubt hes a hard puncher but too stationary, no combos. alexander would pick him apart.
