Round 3 which the SM fans scored for Martinez goes like this:

Murray works his left jab and SM pecks his head like a chicken and tries to land one punch at a time. Murray lands a few straight rights and good body shots. One body shot has SM complain that it was a kidney punch.

Yet they give that round to SM. There are many more SM fans here than Murray fans. I am not British nor Argentinean.

The first knock down actually has a better case of being a slip than the second one. The reason he fell was that he tripped over Murray's foot

It was still a good punch, but I don't think he would have fallen otherwise. Same thing happened to him in the Pavlik and Macklin knockdowns.

        Edit:
Here's the video. Check 32:15 for the knockdown.

Since you're emphasizing effective punching, how does Murray win a round in which he was hurt and doing little for roughly a minute?
Right, but the body shot that hurt Martinez but was called a low blow didn't matter.

It's not Murray's fault the ref was incompetent.

I'm not sure if it was his knee or just age, but he didn't pivot as sharp and quickly as he usually does. He would turn slightly and then back straight up, getting caught a lot of time doing it.

I haven't seen a replay of the punch that was ruled low.

It has no bearing on scoring that ref's alleged incompetence wasn't Murray's fault.

The second knockdown to me was pretty clear, even before the replays.
