Comments Thread For: Erik Morales To Fight Again in July, Then November

Accrding to promoter Osvaldo Küchle, former four division world champion Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs), 36-years-old, will have two fights in 2013 - and then end his career for good. Morales has been out of the ring since getting knocked out by WBC/WBA 140-pound champion Danny Garcia in four rounds last October. The first fight is targeted for the month of July - taking place in Cancun, Monterrey or Chihuahua. And the second match would land in the month of November in Morales' hometown of Tijuana.

Uninterested, as (A) Morales has clearly become too old to handle top opposition and (B) Whomever he's facing is basically going to be sacrificial lambs.

I'd hate to see him get iced again, but he won't be facing quality opponents anyways. I wonder who they'd match him up for these last two fights.

This guy needs to retire, he had a great career with a lot of memorable moments and I dig a guy who fights until he is done and doesn't try to leave on top. That being said you could have said that he was done after Pacman knocking him out for the second time years ago, then he made an impressive comeback, but it was somewhat unnecessary because even though he came back and was able to somewhat compete with top fighters he still didn't have any gas left in the tank to actually beat them. Now he has been badly knocked out again, I understand one goodbye fight in Mexico but why two ???
Hang up the gloves, if you can't give up the sport then find a way to stay involved with it, don't keep on fighting, you just increase the chances of becoming a vegetable when your older.
Your a true Mexican warrior and either way best of luck, but I hope you retire sooner rather than later.

Not interested, but he is a grown man and can do as he pleases. In his prime one of the best to watch.
