I agree. I really expected more out of both guys. The fight wasn't that exciting to watch from my perspective either.i kept waiting for something exciting to happen but it never did. Both should move on.

I had the score 115-113 the 10-8 round being the diffrence but 8-4 isn't out of hand either I can see a trained judge scoring the fight that way. But that 118-111 score was out of hand.

I had it 6-5 & 1 even for Canelo. The knockdown round was a 9-9 as Trout outboxed Canelo in that round after the knockdown. The 118-109 card was an absolute mockery. There were several rounds where Canelo did little but land a hard punch or two so Trout won those on greater activity. Canelo's harder punches in the rounds he was active were easy enough to give to him.

It was an average fight really, few counters from Canelo when he made Trout miss & no adjustments from Trout when he found he couldn't hit Canelo as often as he would've liked.

So people only think there should be rematches if there's controversy or the "right" person didn't win?

Trout clearly lost. Close fight but he lost, no rematch needed. Canelo vs Cotto or Lara (If he trashes Angulo impressively) later this year.

Can't say i'm shocked by Canelo's statement. The fight could have gone either way. I had Trout by a point. A rematch would be more exciting and very marketable.

I think you have to factor in the potentially more exciting alternative bouts for both boxers.

Incidentally, Trout is now asking for a rematch. He must have re-watched the fight and realised he did better than he thought on the night.

Yeah and you and the other 4 dozen people who thought Trout won would be the only ones to watch it. ***ing Trout scored the fight for Canelo!!!

Not as competitive as I thought it was, wouldn't mind a rematch just not anytime soon.
