I actually think what team garcia is doing is genius. Let's be clear about something, controversy and ridiculousness sells, hate it all you want but it's true. Yet instead of having Danny play the villain like Mayweather, he's having his father do it. So while Garcia builds up a reputation with good fights and being a nice guy, his father makes him tv worthy.

All that said, Angel is a racist, a total idiot, and completely clueless of how the business of boxing works, but I believe someone in the Garcia camp is smart enough to just let him keep going and not just smack him upside the head.

Yeah, the Pauli Malignaggi fight is Bull$#!t. Golden Boy been taking the safe route for a long time with a lot of their fighters. They thought Garcia was a safe fight for Khan until it back fired. Matthysse/Peterson is a good one.

He just sounds bitter, jealous and angry. I guess he's going to be a bitter old man for years to come. because no ones going anywhere.

Why does it matter where a fighter is from if he is a good talent and deserving to fight on the big stage?

The only thing you can take from this article, is haters gonna hate.

This guys is a fking idiot.
Yet more ignorance. A. Garcia is not a foreigner. He's a US Citizen by law since birth. Unbelievable....

It does matter. If an American fighter fights elsewhere the crowd and the announcers will be against them, as they should be. Here HBO is giving outsiders home field advantage.

              Disgrace

Angel Garcia is a disgrace. people think his son is a dumb azz, because he let's his crazy dad rant and rave. Danny Garcia needs to take control of his career and leave Angel at home. Angel is starting wars out of the ring everywhere he goes.

He is not completely WRONG...but American Fans are not really LOYAL SUPPORTS OF THEIR FIGHTERS AT ALL...we root against our own fighters probably more then any other country in the world when it comes to boxing so I don't blame HBO and Bob Arum for focusing on Promotion INTERNATIONAL FIGHTERS more then they do American Fighters because their fans have more PRIDE when it comes to boxing and they are a lot more LOYALTY

People use fighters "STYLE" as an excuses but other countries regardless of their fighters style they get behind that fighter 100% but in America it is so many other things going on that Boxing is a after thought...they reluctantly cover Mayweather only because he draws so much interest and generates so much money, not because they like him, so HBO would cover him but then bash him as much as they can while covering him

                So Angel Garcia is RIGHT!

That's because 99.9% of the American fighters all talk about is money burning money making it rain in a strip club. Why would hbo want to build anything off individuals like this??? And then half of the time these American fighters talk a big game before every fight and when the actual fight comes its a stinker. Atleast the outsiders is respectful and come fight night they put it all on the line.

It's because in the US we have so many different races living here. If I'm a Mexican American and a Mexican is fighting some American I would most likely root for the Mexican even though I was born in the US, that's just how things go.
