Comments Thread For: Ricky Hatton: The Right Time For Murray To Beat Martinez

Promoter Ricky Hatton is convinced that Martin Murray is getting a hold of WBC middleweight king Sergio Martinez at the right time. This Saturday the unbeatn Murray (25-0-1, 11KOs) will challenge Martinez (50-2-2, 28KOs) before 40,000 fans at Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield in Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina. Hatton states that Martinez's age, along with his recent injuries and tough twelfth round against Chavez, make it the perfect opportunity for Murray to prevail.

Yes Hatton has been Martin Murray's promotor since about his tenth fight. Martin is putting St Helens ABC on the map. R.I.P his amateur trainer John Chisnall.

Jloro, he had a comeback fight last November against a Ukrainian fighter but lost. No point trying to rematch those two, his body is spent from too much wear & tear.

But this is about Murray's chance, not Hattons career.

If Sergio is hoping for an easy 'homecoming' fight against Murray then he has definitely picked the wrong bloke....

.....Murray will be exceptionally fit, properly brave, as strong as hell and he does not scare easily. Martin is a very capable box-fighter who can ****, box and move depending on how a fight is unfolding for him.

And make no mistake; Murray is coming to win this one.

But I still think Ricky is talking like a promoter; Martinez has the X-factor and Martin's best will still come-up short against a special talent.

It will be a good fight - which will age Martinez and force him to realise the clock is ticking - but SM finds a way to win.

If anyone was actually ****** enough to bet their house, they deserved to lose it.
