He barely got passed the biggest name on his resume (Ponce De Leon). He's a good fighter, but still has a lot to prove against elite opposition. Floyd in his day talked a lot of ****, but by then he had victories over Corrales & Castillo which really **** all over anything Broner's done from 130-135lbs.

I never disliked Floyd because of his arrogance / confidence because he backed it up against live competition early in his career. Many fans looked up highly to Floyd at that same time. Broner has yet to do anything close to that, so I think that's where most of the hate comes from on Broner more than people "Hating others with Confidence". Sometimes, people just don't like an douchebag.

Ok we'll you can't judge the dude on who he HASN'T fought what kind of **** is that even tho everybody on this site does it......you can day dream about fights he should've been in but be realistic and see what he has done in his actual fights......and u act like he got worked against ponce .......come on now

Ponce vs Broner was a close fight. Unless there's bias towards Ponce or Broner (which I have neither), I think its pretty unanimous that the fight could've gone either way depending on how you score fights. I'm judging Broner on the fact that he HASN'T fought much of anyone worth mentioning but talks as if he has, but that's not saying he isn't a good fighter either. I think Gary Russel is good too, but he hasn't fought anyone with a pulse either, that's just a reality. In Boxing, you're measured not only on your skills, but the level of opposition you face. If Broner went on to fight the Joe Schmo's of the world the rest of his career (which obviously I don't see him doing), are we to hold him in the same regard simply because he's a good Boxer negating the fact that he didn't fight anybody?

But Floyd DID fight live guys early on in his career, and he was measured as a fighter based on those wins on top of his overall skill set. As for Broner, that's what fans are waiting to see from him on a consistent basis. Does a Malignaggi win really put him over the top?
