Manager Frank Espinoza advised BoxingScene.com that Vic Darchinyan (38-5-1, 27KOs) will not step aside in order for Nonito Donaire to get the opportunity to face WBC super bantamweight champion Victor Terrazas in October.
Espinoza was responding to an earlier article on BoxingScene, where Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum had stated that Donaire may possibly remain at 122-pounds and face Terrazas in the fall.
Darchinyan, the NABF champion, is the top WBC contender at 122 and first in line for a crack at Terrazas' title. Darchinyan will make his Top Rank promotional debut on May 11th against Javier Gallo at the Uni-Trade Stadium in Laredo, Texas. [Click Here To Read More]
